FIRST CFL BOX GROW LOG....

whats up guys. im doin my first grow....im gonna be using a box an i-mac computer came in...... its approx. 30" tall, 30" wide and about 7 maybe 8 i nches wide. this is gonna be kinda hard cuz i gotta keep the box hidden. for exhaust im gonna try and use a fan from a blow dryer. so idk how many plants i can grow in my limited space? hopefuly 2. anyways ill go take some pics of my box and stuff......

ok guys i got a couple of pics of the box. so im workin with 4 sq. feet here. i jus tossed the lights in the box. im gonna germinate my seeds later tonight possibly tomorrow. soon as i get the box set up and my dirt in there ill post more pics.

ok good news actually....since im remodeling my sisters house for her she got a few fire place mantels. the boxes are approx. 4 1/2 feet tall and 2 1/2 feet wide and 18 inches deep. i alreqady started germinating my seeds using the paper towel and plate method. im gonna go get some soil together and prep my box lol.

ok so i got my first box setup. im gonna grow my plants in this box and then transfer them to a 4 n a half foot tall box after that. heres pics, i'll plant them tomorrow then ill post pics as soon as they break the dirt.

ok i got everything set up except the fan (pics) its similar to a pc fan but i got it from a heat gun. can anyone tell me how to wire it up plz? thanks.

If so, simply find a 2 wire electrical cord, and connect em one to one. Since it's AC, polarity doesn't matter.

If it's not 120VAC, or has 3 connections and I can't see the 3rd, plugging it in as stated above might cause it to "blow up".

hey guys. my seeds have germinated i got em planted and in my box, im goin in the morning to get an ac/dc adapter for my fan. im also gonna get another fan and a piece of pvc to make an intake, i got some activated carbon to use for a filter/odor eliminator.

dont bother getting an adapter, just look for a BATTERY CHARGER... something that plugs in the wall, converts ac/dc and sends dc through the wires... a phone charger will do... that what i used... and it works fine... good luck

yah i tried an old cell fone charger but it didint even make the fan move..... i dont think it put out enuff juice, so im going to walmart and imma buy somethin cheap with a dc output on it. im worried about the fan being loud...anyway i can silence it?

lol yah i read/tried it...lol it flipped the breaker. im goin to wal mart in a lil bit to buy a cheap cordless fone to get the dc converter off the charger. dont got one at the house cuz we aint got a fone we all got celll fones. ha anyways imma go get that shit and hook it up, ill possibly post pics tonight but definately tomorrow morning. thanks for the support guys!!!

walmart sells pc fans. you should get one of those, only 10-15$. connect black to black and red to red and it works like a charm.

yah maybe ill do that. this fan is kinda loud and i need somethin that makes minimal sound. so i got two 26 watt (equal to 100) and one 13 watt (equal to 60) in my box and i wanna grow 2 plants. think i can do it?

Honestly, no...........at first it will be enough, but that won't be enough for flowering. Try to get at least three 42w or equivilant. That is if you want anything more than 1/8th......Ck out Bodom's Box, he grew a nice plant in a rubbermaid box....http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/77007-questions-138w-cfl-rubbermaid-grow-flowering.html . That is a link to the first grow. I believe there is also a tek somewhere how to build a box just like it. Hopefully it will help. Good Luck, B.

thanks for ur reply. i thiink ill veg them under these lights for a couple of weeks then flower with four 42 watters...o yah i went to walmart and got a lil fan, got it from some thing that takes AA batteries and blows bubbles, lol. works like a charm tho. ill post pics in a lil bit.

ok guys my box is fully setup now. i planted my germinated seeds and im waitin for em to come up. since im in a small growspace im gonna look into LST. i heard u get alot more yeild if u lst. anyways ill post pics when the seedling sprout. peace.

hmm ive been lookin online... i think im gonna go to lowes this week and get a 70 watt hps for $52.00 and while im there ill get some better potting soild and some nutes, anyone know if they sell fox farm feed or big bloom?

if your gonna put a hps in that little box, your gonna need good ventilation...

yah what i plan on doin is moving everything out of that box and movin ito a rubbermaide container. im gonna stand it up, vertically. im gonna buy 2 bathroom light strips from lowes and put 23w cfls in those and have my 70 watt hps over the top of em. for ventillation im gonna get a 90 degree pvc elbow, that will be the intake then ill make an exhaust. anyway u can make a cool tube for a 70w hps?
