I wrote it up pretty quick cuz I had nothing else to do. Its kind of disorganized, but whatever.

I've been smoking marijuana since I was 12. I am now 14, going on 15. I use the plant responsibly, and don't abuse it. I am not lazy. I am in the top 10 percent of the freshman class. Marijuana has given me a different outlook on life. It helps me study important ideas and philosophies. It cures the pain from the aches I constantly get in my body. My lungs are perfectly fine also. In all, I want to tell you propaganda spreading, ignorant, fascists to stop spreading false information. Did you know cigarettes and alcohol are worse than marijuana, and that there has been 0 deaths from marijuana in history? In all of this time I have been smoking, I have never caused trouble, dropped out from my sophomore/junior honor classes I am taking as a freshman. I like to give my friends advice while I'm high. Usually they tell me it works very good. Maybe you should focus on harder drug propaganda, such as crystal meth and heroine. Don't waste our tax dollars on this ignorance. The more people know about the truth, the wiser they become. In reality, you are dumbing people down with false information. Let our people know the truth. The nation is based on honesty. Is this the nation you want? A nation filled with people who believe the false information they are told? What if a group of people like yourselves said that fast food is the best thing for you because it is cheap, and contains most of the food groups. Then these people said you need to eat more to be healthy. Well now they believe you, and everyone is incredibly unhealthy, and we have people dying. Your advertising is going to kill the nation. Marijuana can help AIDS patients live longer. They lose their hunger, and refuse to eat. What do you do? Give them a nice joint filled with Cannabis Sativa. They WILL eat. What if this patient is a loved one? What will you do, let them die faster? No, of course you won't. You will want them to live. If the government legalized marijuana, they could focus on more important things, such as hard drugs, gang violence, rape, murders, serial killers, etc. The list goes on. We could put those people in jail, and take a harmless man who wanted to take a little hit out of jail.

Marijuana laws are not laws. They are jokes.

I must say, for something that was written that quickly, that pretty well sums it up... i would have sent them this link though...

I'm going to check my email right now, even though I doubt they replied. I'm trying to practice writing every chance I get because I want to go to college to major in either English, Philosophy, or business. English class is a complete waste, all we do is read Romeo and Juliet and review literary terms.

In that case I have a small suggestion: the analogy you made wasnt comletely parallel. Even though you got the point across, having parallel analogies is always better.

I'll try that next time. I just kept thinking of different ideas each time I wrote something, so it is disorganized. If I am to write something about this for school, I will definetly revise it.

You go on their website, and go to "Contact Us" at the bottom, and it gives you an email form. I think if we can get enough people on this website to send something, it WILL make a difference.

Well, I took a different approach to them. I am going to tear them apart fact by fact. Basicly I have come up with an imaginary scenario pretending that I am concerened about my friend using marijuana, and that I am a man of science. Then I am going to ask them for facts on why marijuana is bad and should remain illegal, and I am going to disprove each single fact they give me during a long process of emails. My letter to them: (just wrote it, I might change it around)

Dear "Above the Influence,"

I have been wondering if you may be able to provide me with the number of deaths resulting directly from marijuana use. The reason I am concerned with this issue is due to the fact that I have a dear friend who is currently using marijuana, and to be honest, I am worried. From the research I have been conducting, from credible scientific websites and books alike, I have concluded that marijuana is relatively harmless; however, I truly care for this friend so I have decided to write to you and get your perspective on this issue. Basically, after viewing many websites such as yours, anti-marijuana websites, I have viewed nothing but information that is biased. I say this because I am a person who must have the cold hard facts. For instance, this ??gateway? theory that I keep hearing and reading about seems to me like something that would scientifically not be accepted. After reading the opinions of many scientists, I have come to the conclusion that the gateway theory is unacceptable by my standards. Never the less, I am still concerned. I was wondering if you may be as kind as to give me the number one reason why you believe my friend is in danger, because as of this moment, I am sided with you and the anti-marijuana ??movement? based only on a feeling, and I need more than that. I need facts.

Sincerely,
A concerned reader

Of course, this is total bullshit about how I am siding with them.

Here is the one I just sent them.

I had never heard about "SLOMing" until your commercial. You insinuated that smoking marijuana causes you to do stupid things like that. Here is my story that I would like you to hear, but first I have something to tell you.

Most likely if you are reading thing, you are set in your views of marijuana. You also most likely will not chance that view no matter the proof against it that you see. You must get many, many comments like this everyday. If your view will not change for anything, then this comment is of near no use to you. However, I make this so that you will know the views of some of the people watching your ads.

I see many people like what you talk about in your ads. I don't hang out with those people. I am a quiet kid. I am 15 years old. I have smoked marijuana for the past two years. Since then I have went from 275 pounds at the age of 12, to the great weight of 180. I don't have any proof that marijuana helped in this case. But since I have started to smoke, i have lost 95 pounds. I am at the exact weight I should be. Since I started smoking, I have found other people like me. A students, an occasional B or C. Polite. I love to read by the way. It is my favorite hobby. I enjoy the Wheel of time series, which is where i got my screen name from. It so far has 11 books in it all over 600 pages. I have read them all seven times.

When I get high, I enjoy going out and walking. Or study my schoolwork in the woods.
In fact, since I began smoking I have went from a B average student to making a steady 3 A's(that is 3 out of 4 of my classes on a block schedule system) per semester. I have suffered from depression for most of my life. Marijuana calms me down when I get angry or emotional. Going without marijuana doesn't make me angry, or depressed. In fact, being sober can easily be as enjoyable as being high. I have gone months at a time without smoking and never experienced a withdrawl symptom.

I have read from several government funded reports that marijuana cannot be physically addictive(cause withdraw symptoms such as pain) But can be mentally addicting(meaning that you want it, but aren't harmed when you go without). But only 14% of chronic users are mentally addicted to it.

I would really enjoy it if you sent me a message. I would really like to talk with one of the people who work for your company. Even if I can't change your mind, and you can't change mine, I do love having debates with people.

I would actually love it if I was arrested for admitting that I smoked on the internet. Then I could say how the government spent nearly $5000 to arrest me for smoking 1 blunt (they wouldnt be able to prove I smoked more) when they could have easily used that money to prevent 5 murders from occurring...But they would rather prevent someone from smoking 1 gram. It would really help the pro-marijuana movement out.

I don't think so. Prohibitionists don't see a waste of money, or measure the efficiency with which money is being used. They simply think "good, another damn drug addict off the streets and away from my kids".

It is really sad how this is actually happening, about how marijuana is illegal. It shows the government for its true self. I am expected to put my trust into this government, but how could I? How could anyone?

All good letters.
I think that ANYTHING that you do is a good thing and a step in the right direction.
Most people are so complacent about everything and automatically have a defeatist attitude when it comes to matters that we think are sometimes out of our control. It's too big. It is the government. We can't win.
We can win. If we wanted to.

The problem NOW is still that the majority of lawmakers didn't have the prevelance of marijuana when they grew up and DON'T understand that it is basically harmless. So, in their mind it is ILLEGAL and that is the way it is.

Indeed. They're were brought up on the properganda, so they cant change. Well, not many of them. But kids these days can research anything, and alot of them know the facts about it.

So im hoping when the younger generation become PM's and Presidents they'll turn the countries we live in around and make them bearable.

They're funded by the ONDCP, they have a far reach, and they're not going to change their approach. I believe there still may be something in congress to revoke funding for things such as these abovetheinfluence commercials, but I'm not quite sure. Here's my thread about what I sent to them and then what they did after I e-mailed them. And indeed, us sending them e-mails just makes them worry more and more that the young generation is not going to sit and be lied to..we're much smarter than that. Trust me, it does worry them when we send them something. On another note, they will not bust us. There's nothing that they would gain by doing so, and they're not going to. Instead they put different things on their website and commercials such as.."Right now, someone may be telling your kid the wrong thing about marijuana..talk to your kids before someone else does" blah.
