This is my first attempt to grow and Iam using a feminisied White Widow seed.
After 2 .5 weeks the wee girl is about 4 inchs tall and starting to produce 2 new leaves from the stem nearly every day. Iam growing in a box with 4x20W flours which are mounted in a 2 foot x 2 foot refelector box. This is the sort of lights you see built into the ceilings in office blocks. At the minute they are on 24 hours. How long do I grow for before switching to 12/12 for flowering and approx how long does this take then before harvesting.
Cheers

it depends, i would wait until the plant is about 60cm tall, but you can leave it for less or more time, the longer you have it on 24 hour light, the more bud you will get at the end of it.

sorry dude, this grow sounds realy not worth the effort, white widdow is an EXELENT indoor strain (do you have a grow book, if not get one) but you need more than one seed and you need a better BIGGER grow area to make all your hard work seem "worth it" at harvest time. my advise; grow your white widdow in your "box" untell it won't fit in this area anymore(about two more months if the box is only two feet tall) while doing this, get together a hid lamp (look on Ebay) and a deasent grow space (maybe a closet you could clean out) at least 4 feet tall. now once youve got that done; clone the shit out of your white widdow plant, take every branch for cloning (killing the plant), and plant the clones in your new grow space, your grow book will explian cloning, at this point you'l have enough plants to make you realy realy happy around havest time
ps. look into some kind of odor control becouse my friend grew WW and it is VERY stinky (in a good way)
!good luck and fair Karma! :)

Lofty dont get disheartened 1 plant or a hundred its all worth it! ive found with WW you can turn bk the lights as early as 4 weeks old from germing id wait till its about 5 weeks old and start it on 12/12 but i would highly recomend you get a HPS for flowering 250w will do perfect jus mkae sure u have gd ventilation or the heat will rise in ur grow room, box, cuboard whatever an burn em up!!...Gd luck Lofty!!

Yea, I'd say go for it, and if your sure its a female, clone it. I have one plant i started from one bag seed and luckily It turned out female. Its flowering beutifully and its been two weeks. I have it on 4 4' shoplights, each with one warm white and one cool white. If I had a decent camera I would take pictures and post them. I took 6 clones from it about 6-7 days ago and hopefully those will root. But anyway its been a good learning experiance and hopefully If all goes well, i'll have many more plants, all from one measily seed! I waited till it got about 18" high before I flowered it, I heard that 12" is a good time to start flowering..

Yeah man well, I wasn't trying to give you a hard time or discourage you, i'm realy sorry if did, and I agree 1 plant is better than none. I was just speaking from experience about growing 1 indoor fem. Under fluorescent (I got about 2oz off a stain called magic bud, grown like this and I was disappointed with my decision not to clone it, it took 98 days from seed to harvest.) clones are great!
as far as "1 plant or a hundred its all worth it" you can decide that for yourself, i havn't found that to be true. but i do think 1 is better than none, i'm sure you'l do fine. i didn't have internet when i started growing, it would have saved me alot of trouble, you have that goin for you (alot of these guys have been groin for a while and can teach even advanced growers somthing, there is info that is'nt readily available in books avialable in these message boards, so ask around and don't take my word for it)
!good luck and fair Karma! :)
