ok, heres the story. my nieghbor keeps sending her dog to shit on my lawn. ive told her to keep her dog of my lawn. now, she walks into my backyard and opens the gate and lets her dog shit in my backyard.

now i have a two options here. i could just vandilize her house, wtih eggs and what not, but thats just a cheap laugh. I could call the humane society and charge her for trespassing and possibly get her dog taken away, which would be pretty funny. but i dont think i want to take the dog away, because it's not its fault, its the owner.


sooo, what should i do?

They sell dog repellant sprays at pet stores and sometimes hardware stores, too, and you could try spraying a line of that along the border where he crosses over. You could also get yourself a big container of cayenne pepper and sprinkle that generously in the areas the neighbor dog tends to frequent. That'll burn his nose and make him sneeze and retreat. A couple of huffs of cayenne ought to teach him a lesson. There are probably other odors that are natural dog repellants, but I don't know what they are. Do some research on Google.

The person who needs to be put to sleep is actually your neighbor herself. That's really creepy that she lets her dog crap in your yard.

Actually I think that's a pretty good idea. The punishment is relatively proportionate and wonderfully justifiable. What's she going to do, complain? With a simple ultimatum of "you don't put shit on my lawn, I don't return it to your mailbox/doorstep", I can't see how she'd have much other choice.

The pound will put him to sleep so if you can call the huimane society. But if they only thing she is diong is letting her dog shit on your lawn I dont think they would take the dog in the first place. She has to be neglecting the dog, beating it, or letting it run loose in order for the pund to take it. Although you could still get her for tresspassing and I would do that, oh and I would do the shit in the mail box just to get my point across. Make sure its after the mail runs and the shit is placed nicely on top of her mail

Don't vandalize or smear dog shit or leave a burning bag of crap on her porch and ring the doorbell. You'd only be stooping to a lower level than hers if you did that sort of thing. And if you're smart, you won't put it in her mailbox, either. She'll know who it's from, obviously. And if she reports that to the police, you'll get in bigger trouble than you know. They consider that tampering with federal property, believe it or not, when you mess with mailboxes or "interfere" with mail delivery. You'll not only get a visit from the police but from the postal inspector, too, and you'll be very unhappy with the fines you'd have to pay.

Seriously, train the dog with some sort of deterrent. Or go tell the neighbor that you're going to begin moving every bit of poop her dog leaves back over into her yard or boxing it up and saving it for her.

I agree with those that said to come up with a deterrant. That cayenne pepper idea is marvelous. I had the same problem when i moved to my new house, simply "returning" the poop to the rightfull owners was enough to have the owners stop letting them shit on my lawn. I'm sure having the dog come home covered in it's own poop helped alot too :D ( I scooped some fresh stuff up in a shovel and threw it at the dog and sent him home covered in poop) :eek:

you're right. the dog is innocent.
call the police, get a report, and then you can sue her for damage to your lawn. just take pictures. dog shit turns grass brown and kills it.
take pictures of her dog while its in your yard poopin, if possible.
first, i'd talk to her and tell her that the options you may have to take arent necessarily the ones you want to take, but if forced to, will.
dont waste the eggs.
believe it or not the law says that any object thrown at a house and accidently goes in the house is considerd throwing a missle in the eyes of the law and can be a felony. take charge and set an example of how you want your neighbor to behave towards you.

We had a mean neighbor with a mean dog once. This dog would dig under the fence and try to get our rabbit...he finally killed the rabbit when we weren't home. The neighbor didn't see a problem with a dog killing a pet rabbit. He said dogs do that.:mad: so.....

We had a very large bag of potatoes from our garden...and every time the neighbor was gone my husband would throw potatoes at the dog and make this funny noise tee yow! tee yow! They were small potatoes but bigger than a marble so I am sure each one stung when it hit. Dang! That's downright rude and not the poor dogs fault.

Since she's so blatent and rude about it this is what you do.

Tools you need: Rubber/plastic glove and plastic store bag.
Put on glove, walk out to the poop, open grocery bag, bend down and pick that sh!t up with the grocery bag and proceed to sling that crap all over her windows. Go from poop to window to poop to window. Just sling it on over there. Return to sender/owner.

Yeah, it's gross but shes gotta be trained on how to poop the dog.
