Aight, at the moment for my instant messenger, Im using Trillian. Well, I know somehow theres a way to hide your contacts on your buddy list.

Somehow, its on that,and I dont know how to turn it off.

Anyone help me out?

right click trillian Icon in your tray>Select Options>Select Preferences>Select Contact List>Select your option
