Big Bud In Progress

Currenly growing big bud in my walkin closet which is 2.2m long and 2m wide and 3m high, it has 2 doors though for ventilation and have 2 fans circulating aswell, only watering 1ce every 2 days and going to add ferts (nutes) when i see some buds growing

i sat on the ground and put 1 foot on top of the other and measured 3 feet high approx, i know its not really right but thats all i have!!!

400w hps just using one but have 2, the burn on 1 of the plants was caused by tinfoil/heat i was told if you look into this page youll see the first setup i used and so on http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?p=1190041#post1190041

alright dude, 3 feet is definitely to far away, put them closer and then your plants wont be skinny and stretched lookin.... but if you put them to close then you will burn your plants which would suck also... your gonna have to get someone elses advice for how far away they should be... cuz im not to sure...

your set up looks pretty good cept for the lights.. just move it down until you think that the plants wont get burned... thats gonna be your guess...

im begining to see what looks like bud on a few of the plants, ive also plugged in my other 400w hps beside the plants about the same distance as the other, temps are getting a little too high getting up to 33 one day but staying at round 27.

im buying a wardrobe today and another fan but heres the pics

bend your plants 90 degrees, and tie them down. then lower the light to 18 inches. put a fan on med.

the sides of the wardrobe are getting very very hot, is this normal, do i need to modify my orignal shade to make it fit? i want to take out the middle piece for more growroom but i dnt know if that would be a good idea, any comments appreciated

I removed the middle of the wardrobe piece and wired the cords thru a hole in the bottom, added a temp and humidity thermometer, and have both fans blowing out because temps are at a high 33 for canopy and 29 for plant level temp & thats with the door open..... added a bit more mylar but since its getting so warm still have the door open during the day. heres the pics

Hey Blayzd, well I just read through your thread here are some things that I would do if I were in your position.

1) Like the others have said, the light needs to be closer. I would suggest that you start around 1 1/2 to almost 2 feet away and slowly move it closer until you think that your plants cant handle it anymore. Its always important to monitor the space between your light and your plant because during flowering a plant will grow quite a bit, but you are through the flowering stage so that shouldnt be a problem. Also its really important to have air circulation between your canopy and your light.

2) Earlier in the thread you mentioned starting your plants on nutes. Not sure you have and by the looks of it I would say no. Its possible that your plant has just absorbed most of the nutes that were in the soil but at any rate you should start your plants on a potassium and phosphorus, but like anything else you should ease your plant into it start at a 1/4 or 1/2 solution and you should start seeing some good results pretty soon.


Anyway Blayzd, I hope this helps you and I'll be following your thread to check your progress.

put the backside of your hand under the light, start about 2 feet from the bulb and move your hand closer until it feels very warm, now back off about 5inches and place your plants that close.

with this method im able to keep my plant sometimes 8inches from the tops(good air extraction required) and they need more light.

id start over if it was me they look bad and wont give you what your expecting, id personally look into LST'ing with new plants you will be happier if you did.

dont take me the wrong way i had to do this myself once and was pissed but after 30days of proper veg my plants looked 10X what they did, trust me its worth it.

here when my plants were 30days veg'ed to give you an idea

if heat is the reason you are keeping the light so far away try putting a small squirrel cage fan in between the light and the plants to help disipate the heat or you could get a piece of window glass and place it close to the tops of your plants then putyour light above the glass get a fan blowing on the glass at high speed the glass will protect your plants from the wind and allow you to keep your light cooler and closer to your plants the piece of glass should fit snug in the top of your box

starting over might not be a bad idea i had to do it twice it sucks but maybe you could cut some clones from those to start your next grow ?

my little green girl is doing really well...i think so anyway, three have started budding and the greener plant is smelling quite nice now, i come home after work and come upstairs in2my room and it smells like the night before lol
the other plants are all pretty much same the problems, yellow leaves and drooping and not growing tall and this is when i read kp's page about how far away the light should be, adjusted the light in the weekend(now wednesday)and the plants have shown some good results, i also took some pics.....enjoy!

Hi all, just moved the wardrobe into my walk-through closet, most plants are not going to make it through but im gonna stick them under my other light and start again with just 2 plants anyway i moved the top shelf out of the wardrobe and now there is completely no support in the frame so im getting a mate to come help put some support in the cub . going to hunt round for another fan aswell as temps ok now but id like them lower for when i start my new grow

yep, thats the problem with the other plants, they had no nutes so they have purple weak stalks and had droopy leaves until i managed to figure out watering, i started adding nutes 5 days ago(1=2days) in turn with watering, im sure this still isnt right but im still reading up and hopefully will be a better grow next.

im also planning to make a cfl grow box too, just as a project or something to do lol.

getting 2 more plants in a short time and will move these plants out and unda my othre liht and pot my new girls in bigger pots aswell as getting some perlite and soil N.
i really want this one to go well

Hi all, the plants might just make it, they still looking a bit too lime green but a couple are turning darker and producing more budsites, meanwhile the greener plant is doing fine, the bud on the top is starting to look very nice! temps were at a high of 27c yesterday and 23-25c from wakeup(10am) til 5pm in the afternoon when the sun came out, right now 25c.pH is at a normal 6.8 now that i have a tester kit. heres some pics, lol i cant stop taking so many!!! cant wait for my next grow!

man i cant believe your pulling a 1000watts using PC fans, thats just isnt going to work out man, go to home depot and buy a inline 250CFM fan for 25.00 and cut a hole for it and install it, its still not going to bring you into the optimun temputure but its better than those fans.

i barely exhautsed a 150watthps using those fans so i cant imagine what that 1000watter is doing to them.

I find it very hard to keep temps down in my cab as well. Because I am running two grow cycles in one cab I can only open it for 12 hours a day.

The plants still grow but just not as well. I make up for it with Organic nutrients. Lucky for me My flowering plants always stay in a good tempeture. The vegging plants and clones can get pretty warm some days. when the cab has to be closed.

Its such a hard thing to control ina cab I hate it. I can't wait till I have a house. Get out of this apartment cab style super stelth grows...

Hey blazed those plants seem to be doing better now. You say your running a 400w, I'm using 270w in a closet 5x2x8 and when lights are on I have a 100cfm cage and 465cfm cage exausting air at the same time and temps still climb to 81-83
degrees F. Not sure what that is in celsius. I'm kinda like most of us I thought my oversized computer fan would do the trick but now that Ive got more airflow I wouldnt go back.
Good luck w/ the grow.
Oh yeah dont be afraid to hang fans w' something as simple as bungee cords- it keeps the vibration to a min
465 cfm fan is loud as shit, didnt cost more than 120$

i decided to try putting in the second 400w hps sitting vertical on the ground with the cabinet doors open and have maximised the airflow in the wardrobe so the air passes thru the cabinet then out the other door will post pics tomorrow

I have 5 more BB nirvana seeds Im curious to try again. 0 outta 5 sprouted my first attempt which is weird. My germ ratios are usually great... and normally i never have any problems with nirvana beans.

I screwed in in the back panels and attempted to glue them in but ran out lol. taped panda film over all the holes in the backboard and changed the intake fan to out aswell seeing as temps with the other light were getting high, gave them a bit of a stronger mix of nutes aswell ths morning anyway heres the pics i promised.

got 5 new baby girls tonight! have moved the wardobe into my room and hung the second light in the closet, timer set to 18/6 or can it be 24/7? temps are 28 in both "grow rooms" when the lights are on and off usualy 22-25*c.
the new plants have been sprayed with super thrive and 4 of them are in very good soil not saying the other 1 is in bad soil:)

heres an update on my new clones, been growing them for 2 weeks now, 3 are on bud and other 2 on veg, but 1 of the plants is doing quite badly, all the leaves are yellow and the stalk is all purple, im thinking its the soil so i changed it into a different pot and ill see how that works out but as for the other plants they are shooting up real nice, tallest one is 45cm and rest are 37cm+

Buds are starting to appear all over the plants on bud and my room is smelling real nice again.

From the last grow i still have a 10g left and they all real solid nugs and give you a real mean body stone after 2 mins, ill also post a pic of my parapheneilia.....

my lil yellow plant has been revived! i changed soil about 3 days ago and added the cfls and its getting green now not pale yellow.

well i purchased 3 more cfls 30 watt each cuz the recovery of that yellow plant has amazed me, and i put the plant in the veg closet on the right into the bud wardrobe at 46cm and quite bushy, so should see some good results from the grow this time. As you can see i have moved the budding wardrobe back into my walkin as the were getting too warm during the day and the space is now bigger too, airflow controlled with 2 big oscilating fans.

well id have to say im very impressed with the plants at the moment! they are looking big and juicy! my big plant is just amazing, all my mates say it looks like a xmas tree lol, its turned out so different than the other plants, i wish they had grown the same way.....any way the pictures can say more than i can......enjoy

It does take a few grows to get it down, now Blayzd- how are you doing your clones in dirt? I want to start cloning this upcoming grow and since you are having some good results I would like some step by step instructions or whatever. Peace out and damn your plants look good. I ordered White widow and BigBud but the damn custom agents or whoever took my seeds and just sent the empty package. What a bummer. I still have some Papaya and bubblicious left so that my next grow.

All i can say watch out brow no fire..seriously light needs to be lower i have same setup light etc tip the top of plant before or heading to get those branches out ..make sure plenty of air flow .as said bend will be a good idea 90 degree .def light needs to be lower say 2-3 foot away from plants hope this helps new to indoor myself but been doing a lot of reading /study etc starting off with 250 watt then moving 400 when nearly into bud...good luck bro...you will get it right.......

i have harvested my next plant and it looks so nice and juicy! cant wait till its dry! My big girl is doing nicely still, growing lots of buds and getting beigger quite quick which is good to see! i have some pics of what i have done to the grow room aswell, i adjusted all the lights so the plants get plenty of it!!! right now only 3 on bud but still have 3 on veg that are getting nice and bushy, i attempted to LST one of them but i dont have big enough pots for it which is also why i decided to harvest a week early than i wanted to, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Im buying some new soil but im not sure which one to get either so any advice would be good. anyway heres some pics! also added a dehumidifier too

just changed the plant in my bud room into a bigger pot as the leaves were all drooping and i had ben watering it fine and its only 26C in bud room, so i took some pics of the plant when i changed it and realised the pots are far to small, which is why i have small plants im thinking anyway heres a photo im not worried about but the hairs are turning a weird colour than the others lower on the plant.

Heres an update on the veg cabinet, changed soil and added perlite/pummus and moved all plants into 10-15L pots, they are coming along very nicely. This is a different strain than Big Bud and we dont know what it is so we call it the "Good Stuff"

Hey guys, ben a while since ive updated this log but i have a new strain that seems to be very potent, ive grown 1 plant so far and hve 2 on bud at the moment, 1 massive plant and 1 average sized plant, on veg theres 2 lil monsters that are growing rapidly by themselves, may have something to do with 10 125W CFL lights im not too sure...also have 2 little clones growing in the veg closet (no pics yet)

I saw the pinkish hairs... and thought to myself that looks a lot like a plant I saw on my America's Most Wanted Poster called Power Plant... Its got the same kinda shaped leaves and the same colored hairs. Just a thought! cheers... the plants look great
