lucky bastard >.<... we won't be getting ours til the last minute, and i can't get my new computer until we get our tax money in (this one is seriously on it's last limb, not to mention it's far out dated.) oh yeah, we only ever get refunds... i'm curious as to what status of people actually have to pay money in, or what makes you end up having to pay money back.

Well, no kids is doing it here. No education credits, not enough deductions to itemize. Just two kids in thier mid tweenties married and getting by with enough money to get weed and go to the movies after bills and we just allways get hit hard. I haven't done the math this year, but ususally I throw a dependant in there and it turns around to getting $4k or more back.

4k? damn! we get like 1-2k and that's with a kid and spouse.

Well I should say thats figuring in all credits I could scrounge (child care and such) and pulled every string out there. I used to work for a tax software co and at one time could do an eic flowchart in my head, but without anything to deduct or enough to itemize, I'm just screwed. I think I'm gonna start making 1040ES payments for next year, but until we pop a little one out, or go blind, or loose a limb, or buy a house, or a hybrid car, or go to school, or run a farm, or a number of other things, I'm just SOL.

That's not to say that I won't accept suggestions of shit to check out. Don't get me wrong. When it comes to my money, I can allways learn more

We always get reamed every year. There was a Turbo Tax ad on TV the other day and I heard my husband say, "Oh, God, is it bend-over time again already?"

lmfao!

yeah.. you shouldn't use those things tho, i've seen reports how you can screw yourself, legally (auditing), or by not getting all you're actually entitled to... it's good to have a person doing your taxes cuz there's always special cirumstances.
