ok we all know it's no secret that a veteran smoker, cannot get as high as they used to be able to... even with a break... so now i've had a thought....

do you think we can't, becasue we've grown older, and it doesn't quite effect us in the same way? like now you're more mature about it maybe... ?

Hmmm tricky one

To be honest when I first started smoking as a student all we could get was shitty soapbar.

Even after 12 years of smoking if I take a break and get some good buds I can get a lot more of an intense high, but that's because I get MUCH better weed now.

I think in a way there is a psychological element to tolerance - like you say we grow up a little and learn to "handle our weed" ;)

TBH though I took a break a few months back (2 weeks) as I was on other medication and the first smoke after that was dynamite, my head was zinging and I got the rushes and the giigles and everything.

If you smoke kick-ass weed for years on end then it would probably be different but that didn't happen to me, the quality of weed I get just gets better.

I disagree and if you're having that problem then I suggest keeping widely varying strains around the home. Whenever I start feeling like one strain is losing its punch I pull out a different jar and work out of it for a few days. It's why we all need to be growing and becoming closer so we can exchange the fruits of our labors without financial incentives so everyone benefits...at least in my dreams!

i've always smoked the same grade of weed... except for the one time i managed to get ahold of some dank, it's been mids.... and like mid-mids... not high grade mids or anything. i guess if you smoked shitty weed for awhile, then you started getting higher grade stuff, the high would surpass your first ones...

i think after a while you completely forget and will get an awesome experience.

stick with the shittiest stuff, it's cheaper in the long run. only smoke dank for special occassions if you can, unless you grow. i don't grow and have a taste for the expensive stuff and sometimes it's painful paying that much! i'm not missing a mortgage payment or anything, but it's expensive.

That's the weird thing about the UK - all the weed is the same price

I think taking a break will lower your tolerance, but if it's something you've done a bit, it's like riding a bike. I remember getting stoned early on and it was all such a new feeling. Now even with a break or with really killer bud, I recognize the feeling and I'm used to getting shit done in it.

1st few times getting high = floored to the couch starving, giggling, not able to drive a golf cart very well much less a car.

now = take a month break and burn one down and I'm good to go to work.

First time I smoke I didn't get high the second time I smoked and got high as hell and became insensible becuase it was floaty time. First high wow....
I think its all about perception and the first high is indiscribible becuase you lack the mental machinary new connections past experience to draw any remotely similar experience. I think getting high regularly wears in the new connection and makes the experience altogether different establishing branches that go anywhere depending on your initial state of mind, setting, music, or any number of factors. Maby that first high is the mountain top and I need to try bong hits till I pass out with The End playing in the backround, and a black light illumanating my girlfriend giving me head while strangling me with a belt or maby you can only sell your mind once.

Man I still get fucking wortless can't function around normal people

i don't nessicarily mean old people (tho if my theory is correct, they suffer from not getting that first high or as near it worse then i would) i'm only 21... i've been smoking 8 years.. i just mean, you first start, you get REALLY fucking plastered.. then a few years down the line.. you can still get really high, but it's nothing compared to your first times...

Well I am 15, and been smoking for about 6 months.

Depending on how much I smoke, I can get as high as always.

Sometimes I just lay down on my bed and laugh my ass off and twitch and bling my eyes fast and I can't stop, but I CAN stop. I just forget that I can stop and I can't stop until I remember I can.
