new computer: need game suggestions

i used to be a pretty avid computer gamer until my last computer went to shit.
well, i've been playing xbox360 for a while and ive been out of the computer game scene until now. I just got a new laptop fully loaded with 128mb nvida graphics card and 1gb of ram. now i need suggestions for new computer games, preferably online games.

Online gaming isn't worth it. Each and every one of them is populated by cheaters and hackers. It's a real shame too. They took another great invention and fucked it up.

Moving right along from CityBoy's negativity, CS:S is a good choice. Avoid MMORPG's, unless it's EVE Online.

I like Civ4 online. Another good one is Company of Heroes. Don't know if that one is online, though.

EVE Online is pretty forgiving on dialup.

PvP in world of warcraft was pretty badass as a rogue. i mean the PvE part of the game kinda sucked if you wanted to excell because it was really timeconsuming, for like the last month before i quit i just killed other people
