do i leave it in darkness or light?

i just planted a germinated seed into soil. im gonna be doing an outdoor grow, but im starting it off inside.so my question is should the soil be in darkness, light, or does it even really matter?

Give that baby some light to help it find it's way up! You could, however, keep it in the dark. It has been proven that sprouts can live a while without any light at all. Peace.

At this point in their cycle of life, light is always a good idea.
