I got a light from my friend (he dont know wat kind it is) it probley is a HID casue it looks like it or it could be a HPS i dunno but Can i put a HID or a HPS light bulb to a normal light fixture and into a normal socket

also i tryed to use a normal light fixture (lamp) and it fit but the bulb won't turn on

HID lights must go through a ballast box.
Dont use unknown lights in unknown fittings.
Work out exactly what youve got and what you need first. :)

Make sure you know what your light is, and what wattage your ballast can handle, you don't want to start a fire in your grow space. That would be very Uncool.

listen friends, we should also remember not to handle a bulb with your unprotected hands, the oil left on the glass would be enough to cause it to explode when in changed temperature rapidly (ignition). This can result in permanent eye damgae or loss, and serious danger of being found by uncle Leo.
