my first grow room + my first 2 plants + HELP

welll here are some pictures of my first grow room...
so i have 5 lights = 2 of them are 23 watt and 3 of them are 26 watt...
the soil, i bought it from some flowers store...and the PH value is 5.3-5.5...
the seed..i rally don't know what they are...i collected them from a bud i smoked...i think it was skunk or something...
the big one has 7 dayz and the little one has 4 dayz....
if u see in the pictures...the bigger one has some leafs that are curved(is that wrong or somethin?) and one of the leafes has a littleLITTLE yellow area(i think this is wrong?!!?)...
tell me what is wrong please...please help me..i wanna grow these two babys...sell some..and go to india in a village named GOA....i am really looking forward to going there..so..m..please

Hey dude, they are alright, i think they look kinda too yellow... maybe, im not sure, well abou the water, dont water them too much, 1 ever week or 2. not more, the light is good, just dont put them in a 24-0 cicle, its better if you keep the natural part of growing, wich means give them a lit dark too...

Howdy mistersmokealot,

Daggum..it kinda looks like ya got an ez-bake oven going on there..lol. I know from experience,that those kind of floro bulbs are hotter than heck..do ya have a small,oscillating fan ? You need to have one running on them all the time-it'll help git rid of the heat and strengthen the stems..you gotta keep the lights close so they don't stretch-but you also have to worry about scorching them too. If you had some 4 foot long 40 watt floro tubes,or something similar but shorter..you could keep em only a couple, three inches away,and they wouldn't be scorched,plus that will keep em short and stout-in combination with a fan.

Also,don't water them until the soil is dry and they don't hardly weigh anything when ya pick em up-or when the leaves start to droop..whichever comes first. There's no need for ferts yet,the soil you're using,probably has a low maintanance dose of time-released ferts already in it. Just be sure to use water with a ph of 6.8 or so,if ya can,git a Brita water pitcher,gallon size,and run your water through the filter first,then test it with ph test strips,that you can find in the swimming pool maintanance area in Wal-mart,just to verify,that you have the right ph,low chlorine and low akaline solids.

Howdy mistersmokealot,

It looks like you don't have any drain pans under your pots..you should git some,you can find them at wal-mart and nurseries,they are usually clear plastic and come in sizes to fit under different sized pots. When ya go to water your plants,you need to thoroughly water them,I used to take my plants to the bathtub and give em enough water to flow out the drain holes on the bottom,until the wtaer flows to the drain. Just leave them in there until they stop draing for the most part,but be sure to have your water catchers under them,because they may keep on draing a little bit more, then empty out any standing water,as it's not good to have the pot sitting in water.

If you just water them only enough to git the top soil wet,the roots will go up to git the water..what you want,is to water them thoroughly to the bottom,in order to encourage the roots to go down-instead of up.

seems good. i suggest you put em 18/6 cycle right now. maybe, as the pro-american just up here said,the lights are a lil bit too hot so a fan would help a lot, also to make em stronger. water when u see that the soil is starting to get dry. hope it'll help. :)

This is not meant as an insult, and while I agree that mellow mood was kinda juvenile, yet how can you justify that america is

Er.... unless I am mistaken, the UK "WAS", please note, I am saying WAS.
The greatest nation the world had ever seen, the best navy, populating america, australia, africa, the uk and several other countries in the past 2 centuries.
Also large amounts of things that are "american" were actually made in other countries first and then copied by americans.
Large amounts of electronics.
Large amounts of medicienes.
There are soooooooooooo many more example I could give, but lets face it, I can't be bothered.
Also there's the fact that americans, arent actually from america.
If you want to get REALLLLLLLLY annoying, americans are actually from england,spain,france and many other places, although mainly from europe when it was being mass invaded in the 1800's.
Oh and one final point, if america is sooooo great, then why do they use language that was created in the UK.
If they were so great, why didn't they make their own language?

Howdy mistersmokealot,

Do you have an oscillating fan on them ? If you did,you'd be able to keep your plants from gittin scorched and stressed by too much heat,too much stress..causes the plants to go hermie..if they last that long under the conditions that you're subjecting them to,the hermie condition does not reveal it's self till you put them to flower.

When I used those types of floro bulbs,I put them in a clamp-on reflector,it has a socket and cord with a reflector,to maximize the light,be warned however,that the reflector gits too hot to touch and increases the ambient temps, because of that,I increased my cooling and heat reduction accordingly,to off-set the increased heat. I used them to provide extra light at the bottom of the plants-not as a primary source of light.

The plants look good ! It looks like you have the fan mounted so that it draws out air ? That's good..to git more air in..you need a small,oscillating fan at the bottom and a hole cut down near the bottom where the coolest air is at,that will help the cooling alot and git fresh air to your plants too.

As for floros,you need the tube-style floros,they run alot cooler,you could git some 4 foot floros and stand em on end,and they would work better.

A comment on the watering, if can be helped, you should not wait to water the plant until the leaves are droopy, thats a sign that they are saaad, hehe. Judge for yourself, dont let the plant beg you, 2 inches dry soil when you stick your finger in is a common test of when you should water.
