When I get ready to add my nutrients whats the proper way? I have Advanced Nutirients Micro, Grow, Bloom 3 part system. I have read that you need to add them separately. Then I have read a post where a grower said he adds all his nutes to a gallon jug and shakes it all up really good then adds. I know I will not need full strength at first. I know that AN has a site with reccomendations but I just wanted to see what you all had to say. There is roughly 10 gal of water in the res and its a top feed drip (2) plants. The plants are about 1 week since they sprouted so I probably wont start adding nutes until the end of this month. Just would like a heads up on how to add them and some suggested strengths.

Thanks :stoned:

I'm sure what the person meant was he/she mixes them into a jug that already has mostly water in it, because you should NEVER mix nutes raw!

I also have a 10 gallon system, and what I do is measure the Micro, dump it in while stirring. Then I measure up the Bloom and dump it in while stirring. And if I'm also adding Grow I measure it up then dump it in then stir. I use a long rigid plastic tube for the stirring.

I have a water pump in the res that constantly "stirs" as well as drips/streams to my growing tub. Thats how I do it anyway and it seems to work out just fine.

Since there is a known relationship between EC and TDS readings you only need a TDS meter.
There is a correct order to adding nutrients.
1. Take a small sample of your water and set it aside. Check your Ph and TDS so you know where you started.
2. Ph balance your water and let it stabilize.
3. Add your grow nutrients (if you are using a 3 part then itā??s Micro, grow, bloom in that order)
4. let it settle again and check your PPM and Ph. Re-balance the Ph again if you need it but you should not.
5. Now you have your PPM you can add your Cal-Mag Plus, your B-1 or what other nutrient supplement you are adding.
For example if you are using GH 3 part mix and you want to give them week 3 veg feeding 1000-1400 ppm, light 18/6. You balance the Ph first then add 6ml pr gallon of micro then 12ml pr gallon of grow then 3 ml per gallon bloom is added last. Stir in all the nutrients and let it settle for about 5 min so the Ph buffers can balance out. You donā??t want to play the Ph up and Ph down game you will only loose in the end.

Hey all,

Exacly what Zandor Stated.

I am currently using AN 2 part sensigrow A&B w/B52 and fulvic and I am very happy so far. I use 2.5 gal buckets and find it much easier to add or change nutes and water. I have extras I will use to mix new formula. I then pop lid with plant in it remove old bucket replace with new and kabing ready to grow. It is very beneficial as to see how each individual plant reacts and I will be able to adjust accordingly.

Best advice I can give being a newbie to the growing world is.....

READ READ READ READ then ask and READ again It will save alot of time verses trying to fix a problem later. ( Hey it also helps your vocabulary It haves helpsed mines.)

Is there a reason why you have to add the 3 independantly? Isnt it all just mixed in together either way? I guess what I am trying to say is what is different about adding them separately as opposed to adding the 3 to a gallon jug of water and shaking it vigorously then adding it to the correct ppm?

Heres what they say about mixing on their site
http://www.advancednutrients.com/landing_pages/grow_landing.html

Im a bit confused about these nutes on the quantities , I have the, micro, grow, bloom that you mix together

On the labels it says for veg growth 2ml per litre on all 3 bottles, which would give a total of 6ml per litre when mixed ,

But should i only be adding a total of 2 ml/L of the nutes combined ,or 6ml/L ?

Depends if its a 1 part nutrient solution, or 2 part solution.
If 2 part like mine never combine Part A with Part B in concentrated form as this will cause nutrient lock-out making some minerals unavailable.
hope this helps kully.
Have a good one ;)
