Why do you need four year of school to figure out how many pills to put into a bottle?

a pharmacy technician is what im talking about, they dont just find your order they have to check if your drugs interact with other ones you take or might mess with conditions you have. Your doctor might not realize you get another script from a different doctor, theyre like a double check
pharmacists dont just put pills into a bottle, and it isnt like working at a dispensary would give you license to steal weed or probably even get it at a discount. it would be nice to own on ethough what a way to make aliving

a pharamacy technician does not require a 4 yr degree only to be certified. you can take a course online and get certified. Becoming a pharamacist is differrent, that requires a degree and such. I actually have never smoked weed in mylife, I was just wondering what it would take to work at a dispensary. Maybe if I did work there I would be smoking more often but that goes with the occupation.:rastasmoke:

Thats what I'm saying dude. After I get out the military I wouldn't mind making a living working at a dispensary. I mean working with what you enjoy and helping people out,, what more can you ask for.

Becoming a pharmacist takes 6 yrs.
A pharm tech is basically a pill counter.
That is a dead-end job if there ever was one.
May I suggest that you drop the thought.

yeaaaah how is that a dead end job?

Exactly, i agree. If you want to work with cannabis legally be a care giver. If you were working at a club you wouldnt be able to smoke it without a card... be a caregiver... grow it... and done let anyone find out your taking some for yourself.

A pharm tech's job is a dead end because there is no place to go and in the States you are lucky to get $20 an hour. Retail is much less. And retail sucks.
There's little job growth as you can not become a pharmacist unless you go to school and you have to do it for 6 yrs. There's no promotion. Its mundane work.
May I suggest you talk to a pharm tech before you desire to become one?

HI Maubee.
Where are you located? In California I don't think you
need a "secondary education". If you have a prescription-not hard to get
in Cali- you have access to the dispensaries. Some of them are volunteer
staffed. That would be an easy "foot in the door". You could just campaign
some of them and see which ones are hiring. If you know what weed is and
are willing to learn, you are qualified enough. I go to the dispensaries here
in L.A. , IMHO some of those folks barely graduated high school, they sell
fine weed though and that is good enough for me.
Also most of them are blazin' all day long, they need to know their product!
Better have strong lungs and some endurance!
Good luck, hope this helps.

yeah I'm located in Cali. I was just interested as to what would be needed to work at a dispensary. Thanks for all your info HighGuy, really helpful. Also what is a "caregiver" Do they take care of med. marijuana patients? I've heard of the term just never really understood what exactly they do. Thanks

Of course we dont. America has medicinal cannabis, England doesnt.

Maubee,
methinks a caregiver is someone designated by other patients to
grow meds, or help patients get meds (delivery). I could be wrong. Any way
same deal, you will need a Dr's prescription.
Hey !! let me know if that works for you! If ya end up working at one of these places, It's always nice to know someone on the "inside".
