Does your modem even have a place for a ethernet hookup? It just seems that it should. I've never ran into a setup that didn't have one. whats the make of the modem?

nm, I read where it doesn't have a port. What's the model again anyway? It seems like a connection I've never ran into before. all highspeed ned I've ever had has beeen ethernet.

plug your ethnet wire into your laptop so it goes phone line>modem->laptop|-|laptop->xbox

that should work :)

Enabling internet connection sharing is exactly what you want to do. If you are running Windows XP, the Network Setup Wizard in Network Connections will guide you through it.

God i hate setting up that shit. Try unplugging all the plugs and plug them in again before trying to connect to live. I can't give you help, only smypathy, call one of the professionals and pray you can understand what they're saying.

That looks like a ethernet jack on the modem. Looks to wide for a regular phone jack. Whats't the other end of line line plugged into? Can you just plug that thernet jack into your exbox instead of the modem? I dunno mn, it's tricky to get this stuff working without being there in person, but have patience and I'm sure we'll get yout there.

no cos if i pluged the xbox into that plug it would go like this

laptop-----modem----xbox

but there woldnt be anywhere to plug the telephone socket....ie it wouldnt be connected to the wall,.
