i have been fighting some sort of asthmatic inflamed respiratory infection lately. i have continued to vaporize because it is normally so gentle on the lungs. the infection has been lingering pretty long... do you think the light vapor mist is still irritating my lungs? i don't notice it worsen after vaporizing but it just won't go away! do i need to just face the music and lay of the herb for a handful of days??? :(

Maybe, or maybe whatever has infected your lungs is nastier this year than normal. It seems that I've been sicker, longer the last few years, and I'm pretty healthy, young enough, fit enough, but I get exposed to sick people a lot so I get their nastiness...I tell you the best thing about being off injured for the last 3 months (not that it hasn't sucked, it has) has been not being around other staff getting me sick, customers getting me sick, etc...

Did you move somewhere and maybe it's environmental too. Since we've moved to a drier climate, it seems harder to shake respiratory infections vs. when we lived in a much more humid (read:hellish) climate.

i doubt its the weed man, its just an illness, just like when i got a fever and my throat went swollen, you gotta sit it out and suffer, go boil the kettle and breathe in some steam lol - seriously it should help :)

well i do work in a hospital emergency room so i am crazy exposed to shit... so i know that is hurting for sure... hospitals are crazy dry environments too!!!

i was just wondering if peeps from experience found vapes to still agrivate respiratory illnesses or if that is unrelated and i can continue my habit. though it is not combusted smoke, it is still a smoke and smoke is a respiratory irritant... that is why i was wondering... going through withdrawl while fighting the RI will double suck for sure, so i think i will start by just cutting back!

I vape through my colds and haven't had issues...but damn, when I used to hit the pipe - colds seemed to linger and worsen everytime - especially since I can't seem to hold off for a few days either.:D
Godspeed and get well...

thanks! i am going to try to just ease off on the size of hits and amount... its hard to stop, but moderation is not as hard.

hey haze, what kind of vape do you have......i have the Vapir (i know its not the best but a friend gave it to me)....i have noticed that when i pack a really full bowl in it the vapor gets a little more dense, i inhale, and feel the need to cough......then i get this itchy dry feeling in my throat as i inhale. and soon im coughing up mucus......but i usually just power through that and load it again......nothing a little water can fix, anyway im not sure if this helped out at all but i hope you feel better and keep on vaping.

Keep in mind that all vaporizers are not made equal. Some remove only 25% of the harmfull particles (generally the cheaper ones), and some can get right up to 99-100%. The only one I know of at the top percentage is the volcano... but DAMN, those things just keep going up in price! A couple years ago they were $500 in my town, now they're up to $700!

I get a little cough sometimes if I have an RI - but I always blame it on lung expansion and figure I really would feel like crap without it ;)

From personal experience, I've found that vaporizing can actually cause some serious chest pain if done too often... even more so than smoke. I am not the only one, my little group all experience the same thing to different degrees. I try to limit my vaporizing because of this, and not do it as often.

got it... i cut my hits down to 1/2 the size i normally do and this has DRASTICALLY helped... i was taking big hits and i think that was causing the extra irritation. i also cut down to just once a day.

Using a vaporiser opens your lungs that bit more than smoking weed, and so you tend to cough up a little phlem now and again.
Your cleaning your lungs, not breaking them.
