i was about to make some hash oil using isopropal for extraction. if i give it PLENTY of time to evaporate, will it completely or does it inevitably leave a residue that would cause negative health effects?

It should all evaporate off. It damn sure would by the time you lit it. You can always try the butane method, it works great and is very fast. Plus you can make it in small amounts at a time (like a cigarillo worth of weed).

The isopropanol evaporates before the water even... if it looks done to you, there's none left. Just don't use the rubbing alcohol with menthol in it! (durrr)
I always make my narsty goo hash with isopropanol. It's FUN to set your stove on fire!!! lol Now I pay attention better and do it in a double boiler

I made some iso-hash last week - all good.
ISO evaporates really quickly, I just left mine on a warm radiator and it did the trick.
Not tried the butane method yet but I can imagine small bubbles of butane = headaches :(
