Alot of you are aware of the new sub-forums (Grow Log and Growroom Setup) in the Grow Faq forum. We now also have a new sub-forum in The Grow Lounge called "Goofy Techniques". Also, there has been a "Travel & Adventure Room" forum added and a "Conspiracy" forum added. Lets all try to make these new forums a success!
Alot of this has come from your feedback and suggestions so enjoy the fruits of your labor. Keep the ideas coming in and enjoy!
Have a good one!

Thanks for the new forums- but what about a parenting one? Many of us were in favor of that in an earlier thread, and it certainly has relevance :) Parents deal with many things, but smokers/growers who are also (or plan to be) parents need a place to discuss how to deal with this subject. In this country, at least, to smoke is to break the law; for me it is a civil disobediance against a prohibition which is unfair. Yet when children enter the mix, it gets very complicated. What should we say or do? I think many of the people that frequent this board are insightful and intelligent, and I would welcome their guidance and more discussion on serious matters like this. Does anyone else agree?
Thank you for your consideration!

I agree, liberiamom. There are threads for the "under-aged" here where they can shoot the shit with their peers about anything. I'm sure there are other demographics here to.
Myself, I'm beyond child rearing years now. There are topics of concern for peeps like us too as it relates to cannibis.

This site is targeted to teenagers and young adults. Look at the sponsors for games and fake weed.
They have not figured out how profitable the 25 years old and older market is yet. Until they do I suspect you will not see any parents or real adult forums on here. It just would not look cool to all the kids.
That is just the way it is. For the most part (except for some "goofy" ideas) it is still a nice Cannabis web site.

Everyone has a right to his/her opinion but if you look farther south than the lounge you'll find some pretty intense debates in politics and further than that you'll find quite a few "adults" discussing the joys of growing. This place has a little something for everyone.....just need to look a bit.
As for the Parenting forum........don't count it out. I personally think that it would be benificial for those of us old timers with children to be able to talk about issues and by having a younger base in here we could also get a different look at the picture as a whole.
I also recall mention of a Story Forum where members could post short stories.....never say never!

Hey, no problem.........just thought I'd add my two cents. Ya see, some of us old folk don't make it up this far on the board. (runs past nap time) This is definately a younger base though........agreed!:yippee:
Another thought about the parenting forum. It could also be an outlet for some of the younger mothers/fathers to maybe get some advice from the older, wiser, more experienced members. :D

Hi Psycho4Bud- you sound like a very reasonable person!
:D
I love your idea about the younger parents - I'm not younger, but I hope to soon be a first time parent, and so would fit into both groups. I also think it is great for younger people to be exposed to ideas from older people who are not their parents - they might feel more comfortable confiding this way. The nuclear family trend has really cut off cross-generational communication, and that is not helpful. The internet has a chance to connect people who wouldn't ordinarily interact, and this is an opportunity to do that with real long-term benefits- to new parents, to teenagers and young adults trying to deal with parents or other adult authority figures.
So how can we make this happen? Should we take a poll and see who wants it?
We could put it in the forums right underneath sexuality, of course, since that is where parenting ultimately starts:)

i for one am really excited about the new forums and am anxious to see how they do, and which ones will remain...it is so nice to see the site grow in different directions than when we originally came on board here...
liberiamom, though i adore you, i am still not sold on the parenting forum, but i am very glad you got it and hope it turns into what you were looking for.. :D

i dont really have concerns mom....i just am not sure this is the place to have a parenting forum, i dont know....i am finding it hard to articulate what i feel with this....i do think if it is something you and others would find useful, i think it is awesome we have a place where it can be had...
i am one of the mods and members from older days, and there are a lot of changes here, and i think it takes time to get used to them all, and change your mindset i guess you would say about the usage of the forums...i think as i grow with the changes we have here, maybe i will feel different..
am i making sense? i am not meaning to be negative or anything about it, not at all....like i said, i think if there is the need or desire for that outlet here, that it is great we have a nice place to supply that...
i actually look forward to your posting there, and reading what you will have to say and see the changes obtaining a child will make to your life..
