Okay, so yesterday I found gnats on the soil of all the plants (I have tomatoes and swiss chard growing too) so I gave them a drench of diluted gnat-kill stuff, then Big Girl started drooping suddenly- I was told she was overwatered, so I poked a few fine holes in the dirt to loosen it and she perked right up. I also moved the triplets up so that they were about a foot away from the light... Big mistake! Now today, two of them don't look too bad, some yellow spots, but Big Girl is sticking up like Don King's hair, and she has yellow speckles all over two of her leaves, and they seem a little crispy :(

I just moved the three of them back to 2 feet away- is that a reasonable distance from the 600W HPS? Will Big Girl recover? After all this, she's probably turned into Big Boy!

Good news, all 5 Pure Power Plant beans popped and the DPS1 are not far behind- will show you pics when they have their first set of adult leaves-

Yes, it is probably heat stress. Young plants don't do well close to HID lights. Only move the lights closer once the plant has a good amount of foliage, and is growing fast. The younger the plant the further away the light should be. 2-2.5 ft for seedlings is good, moving closer as the plant grows more leaves.

Thanks perp- I hope Big girl recovers! First I overwater them, then I fry them- poor plants! But other than some crispy leaves, they still seem strong.

I'll check out the link! I appreciate your patience as I learn-
