Nah, I don't think I know anyone that's gotten high their first time, atleast that I know of. It took me quite a few times, just be patient and it'll come. It could take 15 more tries or it could take 1 more try, you never know.

I'm not sure if the whole "you don't get high your first time" thing is true any more though, cause I got someone high their first time for sure. I pulled a fat gravity bong hit and was like "You want it?" and then he took the whole thing, coughed, but he held it in long enough. He had 2 and later on he was like "...I think I'm high" and we smoked another time that day, I think 2 more times actually. Then a bunch of other times, on different occasions, and he was like "yeah I definitely got high that time"

I really think there is something to using gravity bongs with first timers.

The only people who have ever told me they got high their first time, all used gravity bongs. That would be 3 people, including the kid I got high.

Buy more? Most people don't buy the first time, usually its with a friend who has it.

And since there are definitely people that get high, then I'm pretty sure we are all expecting to get high, even if its not our first time. My friend told me "you don't get high the first time" so I was expecting that, but he had been high so I was sure if I stuck with it I'd learn what all this fuss was about.

Plus, if someone did buy it their first time, I doubt they'd wanna smoke it all at once, unless they bought like a nick, which who the hell sells nicks? But if they buy a decent amount it should definitely last more than 1 time.

1st time - Late August 2004 - Smoked about three hits out of a makeshift pipe made from a plumbing hose with a little bit of water added for a bong effect, mild alteration of though processes, minimal body buzz, but left with a nice feeling of content. However, I didn't really get high.

2nd time - Mid September 2004 - Smoked one bowl from a regular pipe, and another bowl from a corncob pipe. Got a little giggly, but not really high.

3rd time - Mid December 2004 - Got about three huge hitf from a joint; couldn't stop coughing for 5 minutes. Went to go see a movie; as we entered the mall with the theatre in it, i've noticed just a very small alteration in depth perception. In the middle of the line to get the ticket, it hit me and it hit hard. Crazy thoughts of the existence of conciousness, lots of visual distortion, and a massive euphoric body rush that led into somewhat of an Out Of Body Experience. I was floating on top of my body, then beside it, and finally my spirit stayed about a foot behind my body. This all occurred within a 30 second time span. I could not think at all, and when I got the ticket, I had no fucking idea what was going on. I put the ticket in my pocket, not thinking anything of it; but then I had to pull it back out to show the attendant. I dropped my cigarettes, not having realized this for 20 seconds, then running back to pick them up. During thee entire movie, I had no depth perception, and I thought an earthquake was happening....but I thought nothing of it. After the movie (3 hours long), we went back to my friend's house. I was still really fucking high, and felt like laughing my ass of about everything around me, but I couldn't because his parents were home. We went to bed, while I still had an intense body high, making it easy to fall asleep. When I woke up the next morning, I was so fucking happy. I have never slept that good in my entire life. When his parents leave, we go to smoke a bowl made out of aluminum foil, to start the day off with another experience that was nothing more than complete psychedelic happiness (We had some really good fucking weed back then. Either that or my tolerance was zero.)

Anyway my friends fucked with me for a little while- "fall" (if you know what that is) and then went and saw The Departed. I was confused as fuck by that movie, and ended up falling asleep for a good hour of it. We listened to "Wild Pack of Family Dogs" by modest mouse in the car on the way there, and i was just imaging the whole song kind of played out outside the window. good times.
