Hermie? or am I just worrying too much

I just noticed these today, and I think I started flowering on the 6th. This momma was 3 months old when she was put into flowering, and I transplanted into a net basket, along with LST. I hadn't lstd before this, because this plant was going to be a permanent mom. I've got a lot more mothers now, so, anywaaaays. I saw similar "growths" in a few other places, and only one was a little broken apart with hairs coming out. Is this just a female that's going to shoot some hairs out some time soon???

No, you just pulled off a single female pod.

They often seem like they're male because they swell up and seem like a "ball"

however.. male flowers are much more distinct. Often appearing well before any female flowers.

Also, they appear as a "ball on a stick" or a bunch of mini-bananas. Not pods.

Pods = female.

Thanks. I was worried, because I had plucked off a larger one accidentally, and lost it. It had no signs that a hairs were going to protrude. It just looked like any other male's pre-flowers, like from plants I have destroyed. Though this plant has had apparent female signs for over two weeks. I just thought all pods would have had some hair coming out of them by now, and what I pulled off looked like a "club"

Well now you know, you gotta give it a day or two to open up, if it doesnt, and it's in a cluster you know it's a male.

As it turns out, this is a hermaphrodite. I don't know if it has been for quite a while, or if it happened during flowering. Either way, if I clone a hermie, before flowering, what are the chances the clones will also be hermies? Or, is hermie only something that happens during flowering?

No, Hermies are caused from stress. They are both sexes. Heat stress, watering, lights, all these things can contribute to a plant becomming a hermie.

Hermie plants can also grow naturally, but it's extremely rare. 99.9% of hermies are from stress the grower has put on the plant.

but you might be the .1% that was just unlucky and got a hermie naturally.

I'd REALLY hope not, but if so, ah well. Just that I have many vegging clones of her, he. I do have two other mother candidates as well, both are super tall, so, lot of lsting for the clones I'm sure. I moved her into 12/12, and lst at the same time, so, I guess I'm not surprised. Just sucks that there's going to be pollen floating around for at least a month. Does pollen last much longer than a month?
