Why can't I find a 430W HPS Ballast or kit?

I was wondering about a 430W ballast kit, but the only thing I can find is 400W.

Why is that? .... Does the 400W run the 430W too? How can it power the extra 30W?

Anyone understand what is happening here?:confused:

Okay .... did some more searching and found two places that carries it .... for those of you with this light this is for you too ....

There are several 430 watt bulbs and ballasts listed on ebay,in the hydroponics and seed starting catagory. I've even seen some ballast kits.If ya want? I'll post the auction.Grow on,Dawg!

430wttr's what a wack number. lol. it is funny though, my shop carries bulbs but not balast too for them. i guess there the odd man or something, that 30 wtt's really aint something ur missing from a 400. might as well go for a 600. But then again im sure u thought about that. GL, personally i would just get a 400, just becuase i can find a wider selection of bulbs at my store. But i guess it depends on your situation.

I heard the extra 30W of different color light helps .... now I will have to do some research ....

i ran a 400hps bulb in a 430 ballast for over a year before i noticed it was not a 400 ballast. it was given to me by a friend who told me it was a 400. so you can run i 400 in a 430 ballast just not the other way around. the 430 is much better. my first grow with that ballast was with a 430 bulb but i broke it at harvest so i got a 400 not realizing it had been a 430. when i finally realized i had a 430 ballast(now with only a 400 bulb) it made alot of sense why i got such a better yeild the first grow and could not seem to duplicate the results.
