Deftones. No question about it for me. It's almost like the only reason they formed the band is to play the music that I like. They're wonderful.

Agreed
Pink Floyd.
i second. was listeing to one of their earlier albums today. more opera-ish sounding, and i was absolutely amazed by it. like no toher music or songs could give me that feeling.

METALLICA!!!!! Dude, just listen to the Live Shit Binge and purge CD. Thats them in the early 90s....in my opinion their best era.
They defined their own heavy metal style.

I second Metallica. Puppets and Justice being their 2 best albums in my opinion.

Juno Reactor and Infected Mushroom without a doubt.
As for non-psychedelic techno groups... Christ, I don't know... I love all music to choose just a few

sabbath, zepplin, and floyd, for classic rock. They just paint the perfect picture of what 70's rock was all about.
as for hardrock heavy metal. pantera is one of my faves and dime was and still is a grate influence on me musicly. metallica was so awsome untill they went down hill. after load i lost all interest, and respect. They don't know what metal is, it's like they lost there way......and lars is a winy princess who can't play drums anymore.
I'd say the Beatles had the most influence on later bands so I will say them. But I think Led Zep is right up there too.

Grateful Dead
-Terrapin Station is one of my all time favorites. Let my inspiration flow in token rhyme, suggesting rhythm, That will not forsake you, till my tale is told and done. While the firelights aglow, strange shadows from the flames will grow, Till things weve never seen will seem familiar. - What you know about that.
Phish
Phish live is almost as good as Grateful Dead. I have been getting alot of live shit lately, and its amazing.
Floyd
I have 215 Floyd songs, including many live albums and all of their studio albums. I dont listen to all of it, i will admit, but i have my favorites. On the turning away, all of dark side, all of Animals (My overall favorite), Wish you were here (close second)
So I really cant make a decision, but thats what ill go with.
