i remembered hearing about cops roaming the website, is this true? and has anyone been busted by these cyber narcs?

Yeah dude, they get your IP, they can get to you. IP isn't very hard to get either.

I don't know if there were cops on the boards or not, I don't know how anyone would be able to prove that statement really. I'm not too worried, I'm just an average teen smoker, I'm dry right now. Needless to say, I'm low on the radar.

no, never heard anyone getting busted, or anyone being a cop..... or associated with LEO in anyway, and you can see how long i've been here.... have seen a few faces disappear without a trace or explination, but this is the internet, what can you really expect.... i CAN tell you, unless you're growing or admitingly dealing lots (lets say lots is a very minimum of an oz a day) you have nothing to worry about... no way are the LEO gonna set up some sting ONLINE to bust anyone with a misdemeanor (sp???) it just makes no damn sense....

cops aren't going to waste their time reading a message board and actually try to pursue users. i would imagine the only way you could get in trouble is if you're talking about how much you are growing/selling or if you are trying to buy/sell, and the latter i'm pretty sure is against the forum rules. or incriminating pictures i guess. just have to use your head.

So how can they track you if you were using someone else's computer? And even if you were using your own computer, wouldn't it take a lot of time and money to find an online person who may or may not be dealing/growing? I thought IP address only gave you general location.

it is all a matter of record... your ISP can be subpoenaed and the location of the computer is very simple to track... being on someone elses puter is a different story,,,just hope that someone else is not a rat...

i think they would only use this forum to bust people is for the growers/sellers
if i was going to grow, iw ouldnt let anyone, not even people on here know about it, except for maybe asking a few questions, but thats it.
i would probably take pics throughout the whole grow and then post them all up at the same time after everything was harvested and dried and cured.

that was quite a few years ago, these days, it's pretty much as simple for them to type in a phone number and get an address.... i mean even a no-body can put in your ip address (which is VERY easy to find out) and tell what city your in... just imagine how easy it is for people of the right caliber to find out your address....

what is considered a large grow? many have sog's and grow 100-200 plants at a time, but for personal use only.... so what do they look for?

i say this: don't sell drugs, that's just trouble all the way around, believe me... but i think people should be free to grow their own medicine without fear.
