I love to get stoned, but often I end up with a good dose of the red-eye, which is very annoying because I live at home, and I don't fancy my mum knowing that I love to get baked.

Anyone know if it's 'curable'? Or what causes it? Or why it only happens to some people?

what happens is that marijuana expands your blood vessels, causing more blood to travel to your eyes, making them red. at least i think that's how it works...

anyway, most people get red eyes, but i know a few who do only on occassion. i dont know why, but it happens. you just have to roll with the punches and carry eyedrops with you just in case.

its actually more simple than that slpntrx, all it is is dehydration.. take cleareyes before you smoke and youll have no problems, if you take it after you have to wait for them to turn white but if you take it before they never get red

Personaly, I just close my eyes so I've never been bothered by it.. Some of my friends use eyedrops but from what they tell me it kinda makes you feel like you're coming down. That's my 4.20..

Thats ridiculous, why would you buy visine if you only planned to use it once or twice? Thats like, buying a banana and having a "WARNING: Ingestion of over 2 bites may cause permanent brain damage"

I don't know if I fully believe that, unless they are talking extremes, as in using visine every day for a year.

i find that the less you use eyedrops the less cashed your eyes get.. not sure why.. but whn i do use them i like the clear eyes redness relief.. they seem to work the best..

i would have never though of that
i ussualy realize i need drops when my mom calls and says come home right now
and eyedrops irritate my eyes so ill be blinking and squinting more than ussual
but my eyes dont get messed up that often it depends on the climate.

sorry but your just wrong. red eye is not caused by dehydration. THC is a vasodilator, which means that it causes the smooth muscle walls of your blood vessels to relax, resulting in dilation(expansion) of the blood vessels in your eyes and throughout the body. but yeah i agree that its better to put eyedrops in before you smoke or immediately after. it sucks when you have to be somewhere and you have to scramble to put drops in and your eyedrops arent working fast enough.

im not sure if i get red eye...i do and i dont...ill be stoned out of my mind and ill be walking around...then ill go to 711, use there bathroom, look into the mirror and se my eyes red as fuck....then i walk home, put my hood on, and look into the mirror and theyll be white...then i get high the next day and the same shit happens?

I get horrible red eye, while most of my friend don't. I also use visine alot, sometimes before, sometimes after, sometimes during. I've never gotten irritation but I did notice that instead of red eye, they make my eyes seem more puffy. I'm curious if this is the chronic or the visine causing the puffyness.

just buy or steal some eye drops for red eyes from the store. put a couple of drops in after you smoke and your eyes will be perfectly white. i dont know what i would do without them.

imo, best thing to do for red eyes is go in the bathroom and wash your face, eye drops just seem to make the red eye worse, and it's not just me that feels that way either... i learned to start (when i had to hide it that is) washing my face when i was going to have to be around smoeone i didn't want to know... not only does it seem to help with the red eyes (it's not immediate, but you will notice a definate diffrence 10 or so mins afterwards) but it kinda 'wakes' you up some, makes you not look so stoned (squinty eyes, ect ect.)

Sure it gets rid of redness.. but your pupils are still like anime characters.

I've found if you use them before you start then they don't and your eyes stay bright and white for hours on end.

Whenever I've used them after I smoke and I need the eye drops to work so I can maintain in public, they normally don't end up working as fast and I feel really messy. I know somepeople who enjoy the messy trip you get but I really hate it.

Ask for "Clear Eyes" eye drops at a chemist, or ask them for drops for contact lenses.

Dont want to need to use eyedrops? Smoke everyday and never use them. Whenever I go through a period of time with daily chiefage, I make it a habit not to use eyedrops as after a week or so my eyes seem to build a tolerance and dont get red!

I dont know science gobblygoopcockfacts to explain it, all I know is when I start using them again then leave them out for a sesh my eyes look like puckered up assholes:D

If you get a bad case of the red eye, buy some Rohto eye drops. They are like 5 bucks for a little bottle, but i usually drop one in each eye just before i toke and i'm usually okay, and if i get bad one drop will fix it instantly. beware tho, it may burn the first time. i have contacts and i use it, and nothing bad has happnd. its great for getting high before school to keep your eyes white all day and that kind of stuff.
