So...
I was driving home tonight from downtown and I saw a car enter the highway from an off ramp!
I was driving North on Lake Shore Drive. If you are familiar with Chicago you will realize that Lake Shore Drive (LSD) is a main North/South thoroughfare for the city. The speed limit is 40mph, and people regularly drive 60-70mph when weather is good.
Tonight was foggy as hell, and traffic was going about 45mph. As I approached the exit before mine, I saw headlights coming toward me from
the off ramp. I flashed my hi-beams on and off to try to warn the driver but the car kept on coming.
I passed the off ramp by about 50 feet when I saw the Southbound car approaching the Northbound traffic that was behind me in my rearview mirror. Everybody managed to avoid him/her but the car kept going South in the Northbound lanes.
I called 911 and reported it, but I wonder if that person hit anybody? Were they trying to commit suicide?
Visibility was like 30 feet and I didn't see any cops chasing this person.
Kind of disturbing
