Hello all!

Started a indoor grow about 6-7 weeks ago (with the guidance of all you fine pplz) and me thinks they are beginning to show sex. I'm thinking the first is a female and second a male. What do you think?

i don't know which is 1st and 2nd, but the 3rd picture on the top shows a pistil...a good sign that it's female, but it could also be a mighty hermaphroditee!

I can't really see any for sure pre-flowers. Give it some more time...or at least some better close ups.

Ok. I've just put them on the 12/12 cycle and 2700K lights. How long before I should see definite signs?

dare i say, minor heat stress on the growth tip.

you lights might be too close, some better pics of the tip would help.

only put them on 12/12 if you are flowering. Dont switch them to 12/12 determine the sex then switch back, you'll loose weeks of growth.

The preflowers will explicitly show you the sex.and they will preflwoer in VEG phase

Will the switch to 12/12 force them to start flowering? (if you're not worried about that extra week of growth)

extra week of growth?

yes 12/12 will force them to flwoer. That is the only thing that will and the only reason people change the photoperiod!

you have some homework to do

OK everyone, please look at the image in my last post in this thread. We can see the pistils sticking out in 4-5 places. It is a female. But just the day before I was watching for changes and I had no idea this would be a female from looking at the preflowers. So, what am I missing here? Where are these preflowers in that image? Thank you

people dont like other people to steal their thread. you should create your own to ask that question.

you can check out the FAQ section to see the structure of the cannabis flower it should clearly explain were to look for and what pistles look like. here are some of the pictures you will find there.

as well you will easily find clear preflower pictures by using the search function

Thats cool. We all want to be sure of what we have and whats going on. It can be quite stressfull can't it (especially for a first grow :)

Just had a quick look... And judging by the above pic (thanks harris7), me thinks I have 2 females and 1 undecided. I knew you guys would come through for me :D

Make sure you look at all of the nodes on your plant - I made the mistake of just looking at the top few nodes and saw a bunch of pistils, loving life. Luckily, one of my friends came over and was checking it out and took a look at some of the nodes closer to the bottom of the plant and there were a bunch of nuts - I had a hermaphrodite. Obviously, we separated it, but had he not come over, I may have pollenated my whole batch!!
