PLZ HELP!!

ok after i set up all the equipment and put the seed in the dirt. how much light do i give to the plant, and how much dark do i give?

You have no idea how many times we hear that.
Go read the FAQs BEFORE you put the seeds in the dirt.
If you still have Qs everyone will be happy to give As.

ok i read there that you can have 18/6 for light for the whole time when you are growing the plant. or you can have 24/0. thats what i read on the faqs thing. this sounded kind of wierd because i read somewhere that the amount of light and dark changes when you are moving on to flowering stage from vegetation. can someone plz help??

That's true.
During GROWTH 18/6 or 24/0 is cool. Just pick one and stick with it.
During FLOWER then you have to go to 12/12 and be consistent.
