hi everybody... my first statement to you all, is that all this is plagerized from someone else. i have nothing to do with any of this other than the stuff i invent here for kicks and smilies:) all of this is fake and made up and not real and total bs and completely imaginary....so...

i placed two of the gbxdw beans on a paper towel in a plate. first day, nothing, had to moisten towel. second day, and one has popped, with a little tiny tail (sorry, no stolen pix yet). i planted it tip down this evening, flush with the soil, and put her under a double tube flourecent (ge daylight, 6500k 40w 3050lum ea.) soil is recycled from several previous grows, and has been flushed thoroughly....godbudxdreamweaver #1 is good to go. name? hmmm........... to be continued.......

so, here is #1... yep, just a seed, right in the middle. the container is a quart sized pot. the other bean hasn't showed any sign of germination yet... so i may put another one on the plate tomorrow, if no root tip shows...

so, this would be day one for #1;)

kindprincess
12-19-2006, 02:05 AM
end of day 1...

second seed shows no sign of germination, so i threw two more on the plate. #1 has split the seed shell, the taproot is begining to push it up. sorry, no pix tonite. not much has changed anyway...

temps are at 78f, good circulation (using a box fan for ventilation and circulation)

so, we'll be back tomorrow:)

Cute seed pic kp. Its amazing watching that little thing grow into something millions of times its size, huh? Cloning is great, but there is something about starting from seed that is fun too, like the waiting to see if its gonna pop is all suspenseful and crap. I'm just high rambling, but can't wait to see some greenery from them beans.:greenthumb:

Btw, sounds like great genetics, I can't wait to get some decent seeds to start, but it looks like I didn't have too bad of luck with bag seed. Smoke report in like a month will tell for sure :stoned:

Well Kindprincess,

I break out the camera for ya since I a seeded female at about ten weeks into flowering. Looks very sweet my partner will be sampling a bud this weekend. I have 30 more days of probation to sweat out.

#2 has shown a tip! gess i put the other two in too early... oh well, maybe we'll have four instead of two...

so... now we have #1 at one day, and #2 just planted... i'm thinking #1 will have a head poking up tomorrow. hmmm, i gotta think of some names...

if i haven't mentioned already, i'm using recycled soil, so i'll not have to feed for a month or so, even with the extreme preflush. i know most don't recomend this, but it seems my babies love it (kinda like a starter soil) so i'm going to keep it up. the mix is, 2 cubic feet of perlite, lots of bacto (mostly cow doo) and a bag of mg garden soil mix. all is used and spent, with phosphate based nutes, so after flushing several times, the ph is around 6 and there should still be trace phosphates which seem to improve root growth.

well, there's the latest...the center three are the gbxdw, the 4th on the outside is an oddball hybrid...

KP - Sounds like crappy soil...:D Should be great. You getting into hydro with these ones? If so, shoot me a hush.

Did you get the HIDs. They are MH but REALLY strong in the red spectrum so I thing you could Veg with them just fine.

You are just getting started...Check out Growth excel (advanced nutrients)as a foliar feed. Not to expensive because you don't use much but I saw incredible results in soil with it. You will be flowering way sooner if you use it.

Let us know the strain info I have heard no details on these strains.

Peace Love and Kindness - Jay

Keep the pics coming...I am busy these days but will be checking in. If I get seeds for x-mas I will get myself a thread together..

kindprincess

ok, day 1 and day 2... for ease, we'll call today "day one" for the both of em.

#1 was sticking up a mm or so, i coaxed the husk off the head, so i expect to see some growth tomorrow...

# was in the same boat... i only got half of it's shell off though, i'll have to wait until it comes up more to get the rest (i find that the removal of the husks fast forwards the plant about 4-5 days... less time changing from bean to green)

so, the pix aren't too exiting yet, but here they are (just got dsl:D)

cj, my soil is only about 20% "crappy" and that is the black kow;) where offline can i get the excell? as far as strain info, all i have now is word of mouth. i'm going to have to take a look around... now hush! i'm talking now;)

Hey KP, I am finding out and learning from others that if you keep the lights as close as you can as soon as they pop the soil that you really cut down on any stretching and increase the tightness of the nodes, but you just have to be a little more vigilant with watching out for leaf burn and the soil drying up.

hey bear, yeah, i have the lights one inch from the seedlings. needs watering once a day, because of the new fast drain mix, but heat is no prob.

however, i came home to find #1 dead in the cup:(, but checking the germ dish, i noted another popped seed. so, #1 has been replaced by #3. therefore, #3 will henceforth be refered to as #1.

the new #1 has been planted into the spot of the dead one. and here's some pix of the tip...

ok, here's some pixies;)

the first is mysage (i don't want to cause alot of confusion, sage came from a bag, my ex told me it was S.A.G.E. (got it from him, 120 a q) but i heard from other locals that he's totally full of shit on that. i'm calling her sage but i cannot prove the genetics, all i can say is the smoke is very uppy, spacy and psychadelic, and will have one pondering the meanings of the universe...

the second is dreamgoddess #1 (from here out to be called "Astarte" (Greek) The Goddess of fertility) planted in soil, no rock wool

the third is dreamgoddess #2 (from here out to be called "Hestia" (Greek) The Goddess of the home and hearth)

the fourth is dreamgoddess #3 (from here out to be called "Selene:(Greek) The Goddess of the moon and solutions. Brings logical answers)

The girls look great! I look forward to hearing about your expansion. Keep posting pics- I will be taking more of the Blue Haze Triplets, and the PPP twins this weekend. I just fed the triplets for the first time Thurs and they look like they have grown since!
Other than Big Girl, I haven't named any of them yet - though I refered to her early on as Icarus for the early leaf scorch issues, but then I decided I didn't want to encourage a masculine inclination. Nonetheless, Big Girl may become Big Boy and get sent to the workout room! But once I know the sex, I plan to name them. I will probably choose heroines from world myth.
I need to give the naming some thought. I don't want to name the PPP's until they have gotten bigger, and for those I may use ladies from History.

The baterry is charging right now but whay do you want pictures of KP? What are you interested in about the dryer, is there something you would like to see better. Just name it and I'll try and get a shot. Oh and I have a pure breed lonng haired belgium shepard, and another shepard cross, they are great beautiful smart dogs, and great protectors. When Kiana(5 months) cries in her cradle Angel(the pure bred avtually my husbands dog) will go stick her head in the cradle and make her laugh till we go get her. Mary Jane(my dog the cross) is more concerned with keeping people out of the house and away from the basement(where my other babies are), which is good because there is a nice glow coming from there. So are the babies are protected. I'l try to throw sdome pics of them in there too, when the battery is charged.

Chronic Chrissy
01-07-2007, 06:23 PM
oh and I cross posted this in my other thread

Someone mentioned that my plants look a little stretched, and I think that they are just a little. I once turned 8 femals into males because I couldn't keep the temp down so I use my temp to judge my height. Temp is at 80.9, humidity is at 30% and the 400w MH is 12' from the highest and 18" from the shortest(Petti). The next shortest 3 are at 15". Think I should lower it?

I'm also curious(hint hint KP) when I might be able to notice if my FIMing worked? How long to they resprout?

And the last question I know depends on whether I fixed the problem or not, but after increasing the P how long will it take for the purple to fade? How/when do I know if I need to increase it more? I don't want t increase it the net feed because I think it is still lacking when really it's just recovering and burn it. I don't even know how bad the deficiency was, I could post some pics of the stems and leaves if that would help.

kindprincess
01-07-2007, 10:32 PM
for the fim'ing, you should see them start putting out in about a week... as for the deficiency, i realy don't know... mine will show a little red/purple, but i don't pay it too much attention unless the plant is showing other signs of discomfort... but for seeing the effect, you should notice a change in the new growth first.

i was wanting to see an overall pic of the dryer, as i have a dead one and though this to be an EXCELLENT idea! so, pics would help me out with that one...

I have to outside of the dryer two, Check out my other thread http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=97106 for the up date and let me know what you think. The dryer was alot of fun to distroy and it took a while to sort out what I could use or not(I'm a pack rat). If you want any other angles or shots you have to figure it out and ask before 2 pm my time it's 5pm now because after that the camera is gone for a litttle bit. Oh and what about the stretching question, shoud I be worried? I lowered the light 3" and the temp went up to 82, I'm not sure what to sacrifice the temp or the light:confused:

Let me know what you think...

12 is too high for a 400W, try to get down to about 8 to 10 if possible. I keep mine about 6 when I don't have too many under the light, but if I have like 10 I will leave it a little higher so all the plants get good coverage. Also, I have an air cooled hood and I only use mine for veg.

after a super long wait... pix tonite

Hi kp- Can't wait to check out your pics! Did you see I added some to my grow log? I would love your opinion on how the bh triplets look. Should I wait a little longer before snipping for clones? I plan to switch to 12/12 at about 18 inches tall- at the rate they're growing, that could be soon. Can you tell what sex they are yet by the pictures? I need to get a magnifying glass.

The darling robin arrived, and I will let you know when germination occurs! I feel like a kid in a candy store:stoned:
Thank you my friend!

Hey KP,
missing your updates lady! Got a question for you or anyone else who has seen this. I put several clones under veg while waiting for the parents to flower and show sex. Kept the females, of course. I was trimming back the clones for mothers and found to pollen sacks on one! They were taken while the parents were still in veg and have always been under 24 hours continous light, and it still hermied? Has you seen this before?

Peace

So sad to hear about Hestia's death. Arghh. As for rockwool I've heard such mixed reviews about it...but you've tipped the scale for me...I'm not going to try it. We learn from our mistakes and thanks to this super site, we learn from the mistakes of others as well. Peace and I'll check up on your log again soon.Well, hmmm.
I use rockwool all the time, and if you follow directions for use...It is great...most people keep their rockwool too wet and cause pythium wilt...easiest cloning medium, I have ever used BTW, except for sticking the cuttings right into hydroton.

I plant my seeds right into the rockwool...If seed doesn;t sprout...I dig it out and insert another seed. peace

I use rockwool all the time,

word.... rockwool is GREAT cause clones and seedlings can withstand a lot of neglect and still do great!!!

TheGreenFog
01-24-2007, 12:50 AM
OH yea...Knowm you just reminded me that I didn't give my :twocents: about rockwool...

It's GREAT! But beware of the different qualities of rockwool. Stay on the lookout for those blocks that were machine layered as opposed to hand 'clumped.' If it is of good quality, it will make a big difference due to it's ability to hold just the right ratio of water/air so as not to drown your plants nor starve them. :)

Keep your rockwool moist, but not sitting in water. When working with clones, mist 3 times daily...and when I say mist, I mean get most of the water on the rockwool! :)

Otherwise, there's not much you can screw up...with the rockwool, that is. Of course you'll also want to keep your humidity and temperature under control, and give the proper amount of light for the height and maturity level of the plant.

Oh...and keep them covered...wretched mold!

Then, you're golden. RastafarI.

Here's some pics of seedlings in RW (dropped in after germ)...and on the left are clones transplanted into RW. :D

hiya f<r>og! ok, answer time...

the broken guitar is my first guitar. it is there temporarily, until i find another wall to hang it on. she is not going anywhere :p

futon is years old and is something we found while preparing this room. instead of pitching it, i'm using it as an elevation table. ;)

as for reflective, three walls are white, old cinder block, the third, new wall is completely mylar'd. the room is too big for me to picture it all together, and theres nothin against the wall right now...

and....... it IS cleaner than it looks... i promise, it's just been a basement for a loooooong time.

the jars are my best bb pheno's, the small bottom buds (last of the last) the bags are the best cola sample of each plant last grow (quickly being depleted)

good to see you fog, come by more often :)

lb mom, i got this fan at a flea market :D 10$ LOUD!!!! and uses a LOT of power (dk, label is worn off). i'm going to get a variable speed controller to slow it down, draw less juice. i haven't seen these at lowes, but i see them in old country hardware stores alot, and if you can salvage off of an old factory or mill, you'd be amazed at what's there!!

hi proglo, good to hear from you :D glad you like the new getup :)

see you all later

Those plants are looking pretty good. Better then mine right now(hopefully I have the camera by this weekend). But I have learnt alot through trial and error and will be better educated next time. Don't think you competition has died though, I plan to at least try and keep up. I think I screwed myself a little by listening to my husband and buddy. They said I should throw all the plants into flower at once, so silly me did. I wanted to start with 2 plants and add two more each 2 weeks to keep it pretty constant and to give each plant what it needs and let the little ones catch up.

!!!OK the plants have only been in flower light 3-4 days what could happen if I pulled the 3 northerns and put them back under the MH 18/6. Could they hermi on me, they are definate females in preflower for a few weeks. I don't want to waste the potential yeild by having too many under the light. Plus I would real like more time to tie the northerns and get a few more branches pulled out from under a chance to catch up, plus the are short and I don't see them becoming a height issue anytime soon. I would take anyones opinions right now or ideas to bounce inside my head.

kindprincess
01-24-2007, 04:13 AM
lst the hell out of them, put up reflectors around them, add cfl's (as many as you can; the more the merrier) and....

DON'T CHANGE THE LIGHT CYCLE!!!!

Chronic Chrissy
01-24-2007, 04:43 AM
I hear you kp. I waited a little to seriously tie them down and try to even them out, but they keep getting bushier(I know a good thing) and I'm worried they'll shade eachother, that and those Afghanis are leaving the northerns in the dust for height. I'll have to get you pics soon to show you how much I've trained them so far. I am planing on getting some flourescents to mount along the walls(tube not compact) with my next paycheck(and last since I quit). So hopefully I can mount them in there as stressless as possible. Don't worry I won't change them, just a lapse in rational thinking.

heh, this one is for anyone who can afford nothing ;) the diy dwc bucket with a pump, two airstones, and household items...

deffinitely a simple set up, a deep water culture bucket with limited budgets in mind. this will be a complete grow diary, with a just rooted clone as the experiment plant. the strain is dutch passion's blueberry.

the first thing you'll need is a 5 gallon bucket and lid. i procured these items for free at a construction site in a nearby neighborhood. wash thoroughly, as there may be any number of bad things waiting to grow in the bucket along with your plant.

next, you'll need a net pot. i made one by poking many holes in a 12 ounce cup. i put a long shanked screwdriver in the woodburner for a few minutes, and punched right trough the plastic. after a hundred holes or so, it's ready for a medium.

choice mediums are rockwool and hydroton; crushed lava rocks can be used also. my free alternative is driveway gravel. i selected small and medium sized gravel, and washed well (same reason as above), and sterilized by boiling for 10 minutes.

in that ten minutes, i cut a hole in the lid, using the bottom of the cup net pot as a refference. i got the cup in place just as the rocks were ready to come off the stove. i then strained the gravel through the net pot, and set in cool running water for ten minutes.

once the gravel cooled down, i punched two pen sized holes in opposite sides of the lid. i then ran my airlines through these holes, and connected my airstones. i possitioned the pump atop the lid for easy removal, and connected the lines to it...

now, it's time for the cutting. this one has just put out two little tap roots. i placed the cutting in an upright possition in the gravel, and set rocks around the base to hold and stabilize the plant.

after that, i filled with water (so that the two inches of the bottom of the cup are under water) set under the 400w mh, and plugged it up.

viola! a super cheapo dwc bucket!
