Here are some pics of my dried yield from my first ever harvest! In all it came in a lil over an ounce. The smoke is a bit harsh still, I think it should cure a bit longer, but it gets me fucking high! I havent ever experienced a strong sativa like this... I usually hit the indicas, I think I like the sativa better! Any recommendation on a good seed strain to buy for a hard hitting sativa that is easy to medium to grow?

Congrats on your harvest. I know it feels real good to get that first one under your belt and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
nice man...cure just a bit longer....then itll be perfect
Try Durban Poison.
Im an indica man myself, but sativa does make a nice change.

All water curing does it filter some of the plant matter and the chemicals like chlorophyl out. It doesnt actually incrase potency, THC is in the genetics, you cant gain more after harvest. I've water cured and there was nothing wrong with it, but it's not something i'd do for every harvest.

can anyone direct me a link to part of the forum explaning water curing? or even take the time to give me the process in a nutshell. As of now I used paper bags and mason jars and it seemed to turn out pretty good, but if water curing is better I want to learn.:rastasmoke:
Also, how hard is the durban poison strain to grow? And is it a strain that will fuck your head bad (like visuals and heavy euphoria) cuz I wanna find a super strong phycadelic pot and a super numbing narcotic pot (hard indica and hard sativa I would assume) for day and night smoking.

'The water cure has only recently come to light as a widely accepted form of curing (mostly because of this thread). Water curing uses osmosis to flush out the chemicals, chlorophyl, pesticides, pests, and anything else you would rather not be smoking. The water cure is also very fast (about 7 days) with optimal quality (as compared to 30 days air curing), and as well does not stink like an air cure does. Water-cured buds are also more potent than air-cured (however there is proportional weight loss to potency increase).'
it filters more than plant matter and some chlorophyl.
it is better than curing in jars:
'THC is not water soluable. When the buds are underwater, they are protected from environmental conditions such as humidity, over exposure to air, temperature, and light. This consistent state is something not easily achieved through the traditional air cure, which can be prone to a harsher smoke with decreased potency if everything isn't just so.'
there is no change in genetics but there is still an increase of potency:
For the sake of making it simple, I'll use an example of 100 grams of bud going into the pot.
Now, you had this bud assayed and know that 15% of it is pure THC.
15% of 100 grams is 15 grams. So in our example the 100 grams of fresh bud has 15 grams of THC in it.
You water cure it and dry it. Now you have only 70 grams of bud left. WTF?
But you are deceived because the 15 grams of THC is part of the remaining 70 grams of bud. 15 divided by 70 equals 21.42%.
Sooo....
The mass didn't change, just some of the things that were there - aren't there anymore, so what is left becomes a bigger proportion of the entirety.
You go assay your water cured bud and find out it has 21.42% THC content - a 50% increase in potency.

sounds messy... Oh well might be worth a try to see how it goes, always willing to try somthing atleast once. Also, this was a single plant harvest and Before I took the pic my buddies and I smoked a few grams (thus the cashed bowl :rasta: ) so the whole harvest isnt there. Since Ive let the buds stand a bit more they are starting to taste realy realy good. Kinda earthy but skunkishly sweet too. This was a bagseed grow, so Im hoping that my next grow in progress (tooty-fruity from a clone) will yeild a better and even more-potetnt smoke since it has great genetics. Already 2 weeks into flowering with pistils galore on that bad boy...well er, um girl lol! I'll post another grow log soon.

How long did you let it cure for man? Give it 10 to 12 days in the dark suspended in the air, not touching each other, with a fan blowing ;)
