Gotta drive, can I get high?

Hey guys, I just got my license, and I'm invited to a party, and there will be weed firecrackers there. Would it be okay to drive home after, or should i forget about that and just take the bus? How long would I have to wait after getting high until I felt like I could ever drive? I've honestly never had to consider that while high.

depends...have you had firecrackers before? supposedly, eating bud is MUCH more powerful than smoking it. you'll probly have a few bowls as well if the host or guests are avid smokers. if i were in your place, i'd WALK home, unless you live really far away.

hahaha man i drive and smoke like 4/7 of the week, the only way to tell is to try. Its not like being drunk. Also do you smoke and if you do then you should know how you are high.

I love driving while im stoned. I think its fun. when i first started smoking and driving tho i was a little nervous. It can be tricky at first. I would make sure I had my driving skills down first before rollin stoned tho.

The only thing i found hard about driving stoned at first was making left turns into traffic. I never trusted my judgment of distance and if i could make it. Also be prepared to find yourself stopping for red lights a good 100 feet before you really need to

personally, i find it easy to be high and drive, but i've been doing it for years. I smoke blunts while driving, shit i even went a long period when i was hittin it out of a bong while driving, of course i only took the hits before i took off from a parking space, or when i came to a stop light....those were the good ol days....but i admit that when i've gone awhile without smoking(like i have been now) i get paranoid while driving, but its still easy to do...:rastasmoke:

Ok, the driving will be on dense suburban-city roads, in Toronto. I have smoked pot for years, i've recently abstained for a couple months, and I have never eaten pot, ever.

My biggest fear is that there are cops everywhere out here. In Canada, cops dont usually care about weed, but if they catch you driving with it, they tend to stop you.

Well I've never done it but when my friend drove me home it was fine. He smoked but stopped after a while me and another kid smoked. He said that weed made it feel like we were going faster so he was more cautious of his speed. Just eat the firecrackers when you get there and hopefully you will be there for more than an hour so u can chill. As for eating the firecrackers if you eat them on a full stomach it could take like 30-60 minutes for it to kick in.

idk man, i dont like to drive high, it just seems like a way asking to be caught. I do do it occasionally when im out in the country (kinda were i live). Driving in a city would suck tho, too many oppertunities to fuck up. Like 40oz was saying, judging traffic is difficult: making a left hand turn. You gotta pay attention to stop lights. I guess i'd just recomend 'practicing' it somewhere that doesnt have a lot of traffic, if any at all.

It really depends on you. My friend can drive fine no matter how fucked up he is but I know people who will crash within 30 seconds of turning the key.,,, like me.

When it comes to weed, I'm very different compared to other people. I have a flawless tolerance: the tiniest pinch of smoked weed gets me very high every single time. This may because I exercise and burn off a lot of fat.

The other thing is, the only thing it impairs is my ability to interact with other people. My intelligence and motor skills are usually just fine, I've played video games and gotten higher scores than I got while sober. Hell, I can even do math while high. But I simply can NOT talk to people. I can't answer the phone, or talk to someone for hours after without feeling incredibly awkward. So that means no cops.

when i first started driving, it was hell to drive baked. but as you get more practice (sober) you get more confident.

Haha, yeah when I drive with my friend and we're stoned I like to look around so I know before I crash lol, it's funny because I can see hes cutting people off and making sharp turns but he's just perfectly chill.

Yup depends on you. i think the biggest risk factor is being too tired or being too paranoid. and you might find yourself doing stuff like sitting at a stop sign waiting for it to turn green. personally i'd recommend waiting till you have a better amount of driving experience.

I say don't drive. I've rearended someone blazed in a company truck before. No matter what your tolerance, the nature of weed makes it a lot easier to fuck up while driving. The last thing you want to do is wreck right after getting your license. My suggestion is to bum a ride.

Also, if it's a party, there is bound to be alchohol there... so if you've been drinking don't drive for sure.

It makes my mind feel like crap, depressed and pissed off, it makes my body feel like crap, tired and hungover. It tastes like shit, it is a catalyst for anger and fighting between couples, and it is definately not going anywhere near my car.

I think I will abstain from driving and just take the bus. My only real pressure to drive was coming from my girlfriend, but she was assuming i didnt get high too. Its just way too fucking cold to walk.

I was a bit worried first time I was gonna drive high, but I did it fine and realize it was no big deal.

I'm not recommending you do, but if you do, be careful. I've driven high a few times and was fine, just remember to pay attention.

If given the opportunity to not drive, I suggest you take it. You'll probably be fine, but if you don't have to drive thats one less thing to worry about.

Man.. I've only driven high a few times but I find it very fun :P I don't think it really affects your driving unless you smoke a quater to yourself and decide to drive right after it..

I think it depends on the individual and their driving skills.. if you're a good driver sober then you won't have a problem driving high :D

I drive high all the time and most of the time there are no problems. I drove home coming off shrooms once and I was baked too. Even when I have smoked most of the night I'll still end up driving home with music blaring. The first time I was really nervous but then I relaxed and made it enjoyable.

Alcohol on the other hand is another story...

I drive high all the time. but I do have a few rules.

I only drive high at night when there is next to no traffic. I feel safer that way. I never drive high in heavy traffic, and if I do drive during the day, I avoid traffic as much as possible. No matter what people may say, it really is a lot more difficult to drive through rush hour high than sober. Your ability to judge the distance of oncoming cars is reduced greatly. I sometimes find myself waiting to make a turn for a car 1/8 mile down the road. That is, when I'm REALLY baked.

The high from eating weed is more intense than smoking it. I have been known to drive after smoking but the when I eat it just affects me too much. Know your limits. If you haven't eaten weed before I would not drive.

What I think the smartest thing to do is just see if you're comfortable on the firecrackers just chillin... if you're freakin out, hell no to driving. To me? I basically had to learn because I'd go smoke, and then go drive and meet up with people. it was never really a challenge, but actually easier for me :)

me my sis nd deb all smokeing a bunch of weed... my ex on the cmp, drinking her drink,... me going threw moms room finding keys to her mini van... and shouting lets go for a drive... so we all climb into the van... and take off for town... i top out the motor on the first strait streech... hitting about 120... and i get to town in about 2 minutes or less normal travle time is 7 minutes... and we get to town and speed around town blowing threw stop signs at 5 in the morn, and all of a sudden, i see a white honda civic just blow by me going down a citty street doing about 55... so i go around the corner, drop it down a gear, tires start sliping, finaly catch on the pavment, and get the thing doing about 45, and put it back into drive, until it starts slowing down on the acceleration, and turn the over drive off... and hit around 75... and see them go around the corner, so i slow down and pull around the corner... and catch up with them... right on their asses... and i just hit the gas, and pass them on a citty street... and we play a game of cat and mouse all threw town... and they final pass me up, and i relise that i cant get back around them... so i turn down a side street... and just blow threw like 5 stop signs... and get to one of the main roads in town, and i pull down it... and shut my lights off at the road that they will be coming down... and just sit there and wait for them... i start seeing their lights... and i wait until they are just seconds away... and just pull out into the road... they almost hit my rear end... and they slam on their breaks... and im just driving all over the road... keeping them from passing me... and i finaly pull into a dark parking lot so we could see who the fuck we are racing... and the driver says he has to go to work... so we let the passenger in.... our van... and go and buy some more gas... and drive around some more...and then we all start gettting tired... and decide its time for one more race... so we race out to my house... and then we race back to his house... and then i speed back home and pass out...

Yeah dude! I know what you mean. The couple of times I have been pulled over while stoned I snapped out of it almost immediately after I saw the blue and white lights. Or if I'm stoned and then find myself in a heated argument or another conflict, I'll sober up real fast. When shit like that happens it's kind of a buzzkill but I guess you can't win em all.

I, personally drive high. I know people that drive high. I know alot of people are drinking on friday/saturday night in a college town. I can handle people who can handle themselves while they are impaired while driving.

I consider myself a pretty defensive driver. I am never worried while I am in my car. However, as a motorcycle rider, even a 'fender bender' could kill me. I would hate for someone to cut me off or pull out in front of me or just pretty much hit me and find out they were stoned. If you have ever ridden a motorcycle at 75mph in heavy traffic, you know what I mean. Its cool if you have been drinking if you can handle yourself. We're all in a big rat race together. But damn dude I would be unhappy/pissed off if you hit me because you couldn't drive fucked up.

Alot of people get too technical with this drinking and driving thing. Keep your mind and eyes on the road. Don't speed. Constantly look around. Stay in your lane. Move your arms and your head and your feet. Its not difficult.

Yeah, i've been in the same situation. Toronto cops really dont care if you're just on the street blazin, i'm not so sure about driving tho.

It is not a matter of IF you can drive high sure you can BUT if someone else runs into you or you are in any type of accident you are FUCKED.

That just happened to a girl in Point Roberts. She was speeding but not by much and she and her sister were broadsided by another driver. Her sister was killed and because of the weed in their system and the fact that she was not surpose to have another person in the car (new driver law) they charged her with manslaughter she lost her sister AND she is going to jail,

You can be a perfect driver that does not matter it is the other people you can't control that you have to worry about.

you were letting someone drive you around on xanax, and you're main concern was she took two shots of alcohol... i think you really need to study what drugs to a mind... i love xanax, but xanax is far worse to drive on, then alcohol.... shit if you hit someone on xanax it'd probably be like "woops" ~drives off~...

The only way I can make the 18 hour drive from where I lived in Ohio to where I lived in Florida was to stay blazed the whole way. Keep in mind I am driving strait through often alone, so I pop a addy or two to stay awake and not veer off the side of the rode. I always drive blazed, one of my favorite things to do to relieve stress is to drive around the country and blaze, and blast the sirius satellite radio.

I've never driven before. I don't intend to get a car though, i want to get a motorbike. For that reason, i won't be driving high. I would blaze and drive a car though because i would feel a lot safer and in control.
