Roor's are nice, but I want something that hits really smooth. One of my friends had this bong designed by a MIT grad (so the story goes) that had these three bubbles in the middle with openings in them in a maze; that both cleaned and cooled the smoke. Anyone know the name of this wonderful little glass bastard? It was also damn pretty, and I want to reward myself for my new apartment purchase via my own funds. Hah, oh the college life.

If money is no issue I would recommend this: http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/online_headshop/Roor_Custom_White_Lines__50mm_Little_Sister.cfm?iP roductID=3641

I think you are talking about a PHX (http://www.phxglass.ca/index.htm) with either one or two additional chambers called percolators...If you are lucky you can get roors equipped with these as well...but they will run you nearly $400. A company in Cali called Dementia (http://www.glasspipes.org/Gal15710_deMentia_s_Gallery.asp) exclusively makes them and they are rare to find outside of Cali, I've seen only one roor with percolators in person and it was in Texas. My next purchase will be the PHX trinity...I prefer it over the Roor because it is American, Designed by an MIT grad, and it uses interchangeable parts...which Roor does not.
Whatever you get...if you are making an investment it should definitely be Glass on Glass. Good Luck.

If money isn't an issue, I'd go with the latest model of the volcano vaporiser.:rasta:

Are you sure your ready to invest $150 and only get 3.2mm thick glass...if you are...don't go crying to edit.com when a carelessly thrown bic destroys it or one of it's hard to replace pieces. At least get 5mm thick glass...it won't run you too much more.

The roor perc design blows away the PHX, but alas, they are only made in the US and based out of LA/california, but they don't circulate very far from there.
The PHX design has far too much drag for my tastes, and tends to "chug" - even in a 18mm setup. I have both and rarely, if ever, use the PHX type percs. I don't like to work too hard when I am trying to get high. The Roor perc diffuses the smoke (x3) to create more surface area/better heat exchange, which the PHX does not. The PHX will definitely be easier to find, and cheaper though
As far as interchangeable parts, all GonG bongs will interchange stems and bowls as long as you stay the same diameter..

Yea your right. You've just convinced to get a ROOR black instead. This bong is going to be a major cut in my wallet but it'll be worth it.
