Definitely bring up the 'cancer aspect' and the Alzheimer aspect. And, if I were you, I'd throw in that 120 year old lady lol.

hemp,
marijuana prohibition laws were passed only by propaganada william hearst/anslinger created (search tehse, therye pretty funny),
its medical uses,
alcohol, AWOL (alcohol without liquid) and alcohol are legal and kills so much more then marijuana,
and the failure on the war on drugs (millions being spent on marijuana yet no decrease in usage among teens and adults)

Mention how much prohibition(sp) is costing the tax payers and how much money could be saved and profited off of if it were legal. I reccomend watching the show Bullshit they done a episode on the war on Drugs. I dont have the link but you can type it in on Google and go from there.

1. its harmless.
2. even if it wasnt harmless, people should be allowed to do what they want to themselves so long as they arent causing harm to others

1. its harmless.
2. even if it wasnt harmless, people should be allowed to do what they want to themselves so long as they arent causing harm to others

3. Even if it IS harmful, even though its not, still make it legal just because cigarettes and alcohol are both harmful & legal.

I remeber reading something on NORML its about sleep apnea and Marijuana. Here ya go.

Sleep apnea is a medical disorder characterized by frequent interruptions in breathing of up to ten seconds or more during sleep. The condition is associated with numerous physiological disorders, including fatigue, headaches, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, heart attack and stroke. Though sleep apnea often goes undiagnosed, it is estimated that approximately four percent of men and two percent of women ages 30 to 60 years old suffer from the disease.

One preclinical study is cited in the scientific literature investigating the role of cannabinoids on sleep-related apnea. Writing in the June 2002 issue of the journal of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, researchers at the University of Illinois (at Chicago) Department of Medicine reported “potent suppression” of sleep-related apnea in rats administered either exogenous or endogenous cannabinoids.[1] Investigators reported that doses of delta-9-THC and the endocannabinoid oleamide each stabilized respiration during sleep, and blocked serotonin-induced exacerbation of sleep apnea in a statistically significant manner. No follow up investigations have taken place assessing the use of cannabinoids to treat this indication. However, several recent preclinical and clinical trials have reported on the use of THC, natural cannabis extracts, and endocannabinoids to induce sleep[2,3] and/or improve sleep quality.[4]

Yeah...right before my mom passed away with cancer, she lost her appetite because of some medication or chemo or radiation (not sure) but the doc gave her weed so that she can eat because she was losing a lot of weight rapidly.

im currently writing an argument paper, and of course i picked legalization of marijuana. the sleep apnea link, i already got. im arguing the gateway theory, ineffectiveness of DARE, drug overdoses, medicinal uses/benefits, personal use. im even talking about my experiences with other drugs, comparing the effects to marijuana.

Don't forget the most important reason why weed should be legalized:

Getting stoned makes people happy, and happiness is the whole point of living!

it's wayy wayyyy WAYYYY more than 7 billion.

Just watch this and use history as a reason too.

because it shouldn't of been illegal in the first place.

That's the stuff. According to Bentham, happiness is the only thing desirable in itself. Everyone wants to be happy. Why do this? Why do that? Why be happy? At this question we can stop and so does the infinite regress. I'm a preference utilitarian compared to Benthams Act utilitarianism though. Since happiness is subjective, everyone should follow their own preferences.

LEGALIZE!
