im pretty sure the answer to this is no, but i figured id ask just for my friends sake:

my friend has a VERY mild form of tourettes (i.e. only one tick, which is he opens the side of his mouth and makes a click noise), but is on medicine that completely stops it. i wanna get him high tomorrow for his first time, would cannabis interact with his medicine? i told him that even if it does, it would probably only be for the duration of the high..

Whoa, whoa whoa! First off, you dont even know what medicine hes on? How can anyone possibly give you advice on what to do without knowing the type of medicine he is taking?

Sure marijuana might help someone with tourettes, but there is no way to know the effect on his drugs its going to have.. You need to find out that info first.

i agree with him.. but it should be safe for the most part i dont think cannabis acts bad with other drugs.. but this is just me assuming this.. and you know what can happen when someone assumes something.....

Dude, thats not true.. Ive seen quite a few people here complain about complications with other drugs. Some have been pretty serious..

I have tourettes, actualy. I dont take any meds for it, but I notice I get kinda twitchy when I smoke weed.

I think it definitely depends on the person with Tourette's and how he responds individually to weed. Some people will have negative effects and some positive. There's probably no overall conclusion or generalization you can make on whether it'd be beneficial or not. It would likely also depend on the strain of cannabis, too. Different strains have different neurological effects.

I never said that it wouldn't interfear with any meds he may be taking, I was just stating the fact a freind of mine has it and weed helps him with it

hey ive got pretty miled tourettes and weed absolutley stops the ticks. completley. this stupid fucking country is now testing me becuase i brought .4 grams of weed to school. so my ticks are back at an all time high. hopefully i will be gettin perscribed to marinol soon though. (synthetic THC pills) i dont plan to take the pills, but they will be my excuse for having thc show up on my tests.
