Hi everyone,
I'm not a medical user, per se, but yesterday and today I had the stomach flu. Not a violent one, but I was nauseated and food made me feel sick. So I decided to give the cannabis a go; it was amazing! I was able to eat a normal dinner and everything. I highly recommend smoking for nausea.
I know there are other threads, but I was so excited!

Cannabis is quite effective for that. I remember last summer I took some painkillers on an emptry stomach then took the dog out for a walk. While I was walking I got hit with AWFUL nausea and was preparing to throw up. Luckily I realized there was still a packed bowl (with a lid) in my pocket, so I took 3 tokes and *poof*, nausea 100% cured. Cancer patients don't just use it because it's fun. Glad to hear you've discovered these benefits too :) .

Same here!!! Anytime I get an upset stomach all I have to do is spark a bowl and after 2 - 3 hits I feel good again. I love weed so much :D
It's always been good for when im feeling ill. And it's got rid of 2 colds and 2 chest infections that i've had this year, without anti-ciotics.
But thats cos THC has anti-biotic properties.

do you have a source for that? im currently working on my paper for legalization of marijuana, and that little tidbit would be really good if i could find a source.
i cant just have that as a fact, then list the source as
"LIP - cannabis.com member" ..... would be cool though

When I had cancer and was going through chemo and radiation i'd smoke when I had the chance and was up for it and it helped me immencely. Besides making me hungry it made the IV's, the port accessing and the muscle aches alot more tolerable. Without pot cancer would have been much worse.

Oh that's for sure. When I went to the hospital, I'd ask a friend to stock up on a lot of buds so when I got out, I could get plenty of relieve for the chemo sessions. It helps immensely and makes every aspect about cancer bearable. I'll never forget how chemo and being stuck practically destroy my veins. I opted not to have a port, or a mainline so I had to get sticked everyday. By the last cycle, I barely had any usable veins for chemo.
All I have left is one clean-up surgery, recovery from chemo brain, and a PET scan to determine if I'm cancer-free. Can't wait to close the page on this experience and have my hair grow back.
What type of cancer did you have if you don't mind me asking? I'm lucky I never had to go through radiation, how does it work and the side effects?

Im afriad i have no source, i read it a while ago. But it's true, THC has anti-biotic properties. That's why it's good for infections that thats kind of thing, where you'd normally need anti-biotics. I'll try and find it and post it here.

The way is was explained to me was that It brings your immune system down slightly during the duration of how long your intoxicated. It can still bring your immune system down and have anti-biotic properties. Two different things entirely.

Good luck with the paper! If you need more, just run searches on cannabis abstract [I] and pick any major [I]disease. Try these for a start- glioma (a nasty brain cancer), leukemia (they've known about this since 1987!) Alzheimer's, crohne's disease and IBS, ALS, diabetic retinopathy (major cause of blindness), osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia. ALL of them are treatable with cannabis! Hit them with science, kid!- Granny Storm Crow :stoned:

I think this topic just hit a fork in the road...the funny way with LIP our Noble Laureate-in-Residence or the other way serious/cancer way. My mom just had her 5th radiation treatment. BUT I need too go the funny way -Yep.
