www.temple420.org

basically its an established church that found some loop hole allowing marijuana to be partaken in as a form of sacrament..if youre a member wtih a card and stuff, it is legal to smoke in all 50 states based on some supreme court ruling(all on the website)..if you get busted, the church (if youre in good standings with them) will pay for legal fees/lawyers etc to get you out of it...any members here or people considering joining?

Interesting, but:

"Applicants must also have a credit card or U.S. checking account as a second form of identification."

Sounds a bit scammy.

Agreed, that is a little scary. Not to mention something like this would be huge and would have had to be discovered by news agencies by now. Bill O'Reiley would be ranting about it for sure.

I think it may be a scam.

Yeah, in the latest issue of High Times, Doug Benson lists Temple 420 as one of his favorite dispenseries (sp) in Cali. He said you don't even need a medical card, you just need to be a member to purchase their "sacrament".

Apparently it's $100 to join. I don't think it would be wise though, to buy a card, and then go smoke in public and use your card as an excuse, because I'm sure they'll find away to still prosecute you or something.

If I ever move to Hollywood, or if a temple 420 starts a franchise or something (haha), then I'd buy a card, just so I wouldn't have to worry about finding a dealer, or any of that shit, I could just go to the "store" to buy my weed.

Thats pretty neat if it is all true.

I somehow feel that if its true it'd be a bit more known.

Even though, the government does what it wants, so its hardly a loophole, I'm sure many people would get screwed. Its probably like, a "get out of jail free card" where theres a chance it'll help you, but a chance it won't.

Like I said, there's really no use in being a member. It's just like another medical dispensary, but more expensive. Dispensary's are all over the place in California. You can buy weed in a number of places, as long as you have a medical card.

What does it take to get a medical card? A trip to the doctor. What are the benefits? You can choose any dispensary to buy from, which means a large selection.

To get a Temple 420 card, you have to pay at least $100, and the only "benefit" is that you can buy weed from ONE place. I have more variety from my dealers.

And, if for some reason, you got busted or something, I'm sure having a medical card would hold more water in a court room, than a fucking "temple 420" card.

yes, they are allowed to do anything that they want, as long as it is in line with the laws of their tribe. US athorities have absolutely no jurisdiction on reservations. many times criminals will flee to reservations because the tribes would have to go through extradition to turn over the criminals to the government.

i also believe that this is bogus, although it is a law that you can use cannabis for religious purposes. I know that rastafarians are exempt from cannabis laws to an extent.
