I was telling a friend a few months ago about how the other day at school I asked to borrow this dudes lighter, light my cigg, and handed it back to him. When I handed it back I noticed black burn marks on the bottom of it. So I looked at him and asked if he smoked and we got into a cool random conversation about weed.

I see that same friend I told about that a couple days ago and he repeats the story back to me as if it were one of his own. He repeated it nearly verbatim. I decided not to call him out on it as he is an old friend and we rarely see each other. Why do people steal stories as if it happened to you.

Best part is it isn't that great of a story to steal.

All I ask is I don't have to hear my own stories. LOL.

I just found it funny because he forgot who it was that told it to him he just accepts it as his own now.

I didn't point it out to my girlfriend because I would felt bad having her laugh at him.

Repeat it to others as your own, I really don't care, but please, I beg you, don't repeat a story that isn't that good back to me. :(

I FUCKING HATE IT when people lie about shit that has happened to them to get attention or someting. Almost nothing pisses me off more than that. Some girl I knew said one day that last night het boyfriend od'd on like heroin or something and we all didn't even know what to say to her. We all felt really bad and shit and tried to make her feel better and all that. A few weeks later we found out from her brother that the whole thing was complete bullshit. I was so fukcing pissed off.

i'll reuse a good story, but only if im in it. ill be like "yo, you 'member that time when we got up on that school and tagged the shit out of it? that was awesome, the whole school saw that shit" and they be like "yeah, that was some bomb shit we was smokin up there" "yeah, and that old lady saw us" "yeah, we were so lucky" "and that faggot perry was with us" what a fruit, he didnt do anything" "probably cause he didnt know how"
btw, me and some friends actually did that

I don't mind if it's "Hey man my friend told me this one time..."

Can't stand when it suddenly happened to them though.

Well, imitation is a form of flattery, after all. What I hate more is the One-Ups. If you tell a story, they chime in with a bit better story.

Example. You find a couple grams of weed you didn't know you had. They find a couple quarters. You win $100 playin poker. They just won $300 the other night. etc etc.

Man I hate that.

Eh, I have never heard of anything so stupid :p. Why the hell would some one remember a story some one else told them and tell some one else as if it happened to them? I just don't understand...I don't think anyone I know is pathetic enough to take a story I told them and re-use it.

are you sure you didn't steal that story from me? Because practically the same thing has happened.

Fellow stoners always know to check the bottom of the lighter. And know what it means if they find a small patch of resin.

I check whenever I borrow a lighter. It makes me feel like a detective or something.

Maybe you and your friend just lead very parallel lives...

word, its how cops can tell if your stoner or not, although they cant exactly use that as evidence against you or anything

Could be, it was just that is so ver batim (major spelling error), and I remember telling him about it because it happened a few days ago. And now that I remember I didn't talk to the guy the guy who told me the story back added that. So maybe after hearing the story something similar happend when he bummed a light and just forgot he got it from my little rambling.

I will give him benifit of the doubt.

My life isn't so boring that I need to tell someone elses story as my own, so, no, I don't do that as that is quite lame.

It really bugs me when someone does that. What do you say to them when you can read into exactly what they're trying to do and realize how stupid they look?
I'll just say, "Oh okay, you're better than me.", then they'll say something like "Thats not what I was trying to say..". I'm just standing there staring at them like they're idiots, i just say 'okay?'
Argh, people are so predictable now, its getting boring and fustrating. Its the same thing over and over.

I just say "One-Ups" really loud. Usually they don't know what I'm talking about.
