Hey,

There seem to be alot of good people here from the Northern California and the Bay Area in particular. Do people want to get together for a social gather of sorts?

What locations do people like in the city?

If people are in the mood for some drinks, food, some hookah, we could try Kan Zaman. Its on Height st not far from Kezar.

A gathering in a Park could also be nice. Perhapse a "pot" luck? :)

Anyway, I am willing to organize. I would just like to get people's preferences.

Live in South Bay, willing to go anywhere in the city really for a night - maybe grab a hotel or do we have someone in the city where we could crash at? Would be fun to have a huge cannabis.com party and show each other our goods, and get to know one another a little bit. Perhaps we could organize it for a night when some good music is coming through? Just a shot in the dark but is anyone going to Trey Anastasio this weekend?

mmm beer and disk and pot, reminds me of all 5 of my college years

I wish it wasn't getting so cold, a bonfire at the beach could kick ass as well, the nice thing about the park is that it is free so even those who don't want to pay 9 dollars a beer will come

Ive already met a couple members off this site already and everyone has been great. Id be down to meet more people and hang out if we organized something.

Im a big nature freak so Id love to meet somewhere outdoors for a short hike or something of that sort. Maybe we will continue to be blessed with amazing weather for a few more weeks. Outdoors for me are nice because you can speak and show-and-tell freely without worry, plus its gorgeous and cannabis really should be enjoyed outside where its originally from. Then go get some great food after we get an appetite going.

hiking? how about Muir Woods? I would love to do some hiking with ya! It will make me feel like a boy scout again. So would doing some whip-its.

However, maybe this first gathering should be outside, but with food and what not so it wont scare off the non hikers.

I havent heard of it? What does it involve? Could you provide a link to the event details? I would be down to go up to the woods at some point, but maybe closer to summer time, when the weather is a little better. I think we should have many gatherings over time

I am down to meet all y'all crazy cats, I do work alot, but if given notice I can take a night off.

While on the subject of NorCal, a friend of mine recently told me it's becoming alot harder to obtain medical cards in this area. Any truth to that? For now my friends card is posted, but I need to get one of my own eventually.

Well, if you don't mind, post an email address here if you are interested in attending something and I will send out some emails to coordinate things. It will also give us a good idea of what venue to use based upon size of the group.

yeah, I would be kind of freaked out to, but really if LEO wanted to find me all they would need to do is trace my IP# and get info from my ISP. Anyway, I am medicinal, have a card, and am legal in my state so even if they did come after me it would be a big waste of their time and possibly a law suit.

Got to have a little faith sometimes right? :)

first off, i dont know what area your from but i doubt any authority figure anyware would go to the trouble into busting closet or small time growers. if you run 100 acres then you probably wouldnt be talking about it on a cannabis site, but i dont think any of us have that situation;)

That sounds awsome, but be careful everyone i am not direrecting this at you CaliGreen or saying u are a nark, but we should all be careful when meeting up in person especially in a large group it could be a setup for a bust since obviously we would all bring as little something to sample and pass aroud the group  . that would be an easy way for some A$$Hole cop to make himself a big bust and get a promotion.

remember, we are talking about california, san fransisco at the least, what would be the point of a cop organizing a meeting place to bust us for having a joint or two on us? so he could write us a ticket? the only thing to be sketched about with meeting other users IN CALIFORNIA is to let people you hardly know, know where your house and operation is. it would be a good way to make a friend and loose one fast. just meet the user first and if he/she has a good heart then take it from there, as far a people getting busted, i doubt it highly.

this is different in other states.

exactly why i suggested humboldt county. first off, no cop cares about a few adults gatherin to sample the kind, second-we could go to a million places(deep woods) where the cops would be no worry. i know its a haul from the bay-but should eliminate some folks worry about that pig lurkin in the bushes!! lol!!!!!! man i'm glad i live farnorcal :D

I'm in Southern California right now for school, but I'm originally from Sonoma County so I could probably attend as well.

Thank you WH I will draft up some docs authorizing future use. :D

I was starting to think this was not such a hot idea but then remembered what the SF policy now is.......LOWEST priority....Nice!

This was sent to me by the Mary jane policy project a few weeks back...

Yesterday, in a groundbreaking development for marijuana policy in California, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted 7-3 to make most adult marijuana offenses the city's lowest law enforcement priority â?? making San Francisco the largest city in the country to effectively end adult marijuana arrests.

This vote comes on the heels of the three victories in California on November 7, when the voters of Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and Santa Monica passed similar measures by large margins. (That same day, the voters of Missoula County, Montana also passed a similar measure.) The MPP grants program provided almost all of the funding for these campaigns.

As a result of yesterday's vote in San Francisco, nearly 1.4 million Californians will now live in cities that have de-prioritized marijuana offenses â?? the four listed above, plus Oakland in 2004 and West Hollywood earlier this year.

This is one of MPP's most important roles â?? to assist local activists in creating homegrown campaigns that bring about constructive change in their communities. Would you please support our work by making a financial contribution today ?

San Francisco's new ordinance makes marijuana offenses by adults 18 and older the lowest priority for the city's police, with exceptions for marijuana offenses that occur in public or involve minors, a threat of violence, or driving while intoxicated. The law also directs the San Francisco city clerk to send letters to state and federal elected officials noting that the ordinance passed and stating that the city supports the taxation and regulation of marijuana. Mayor Gavin Newsom is expected to sign the ordinance shortly.

MPP's support helped to catalyze a broad coalition whose advocacy made this victory possible; that coalition included the local offices of the Drug Policy Alliance and NORML, as well as numerous extraordinary local activists.

With record numbers of Americans calling for an end to marijuana prohibition, these kinds of aggressive lobbying and initiative campaigns are more important than ever. If you want to help hammer the nails into prohibition's coffin, please click here to make your most generous donation today.

Thank you in advance for anything you can give to help.

Sincerely,

Rob Kampia
Executive Director
Marijuana Policy Project
Washington, D.C.

P.S. Please visit www.mpp.org/vote and spend five minutes to complete MPP's supporter survey. In so doing, you will be entered into a drawing to win a free ticket to MPP's party at the Playboy Mansion. (The event will be held in Los Angeles in May 2007; more details will be released in the next two weeks.) Five runners-up will win MPP T-shirts.

P.P.S. As I've mentioned in previous alerts, a major philanthropist has committed to match the first $3.5 million that MPP can raise from the rest of the planet in 2006. This means that your donation today will be doubled.

The city of Santa Cruz also just put similar laws into effect. Proposition K made it not only the lowest priority for the police to deal with, but also made it so that the county under no circumstances would provide money towards an investigation that the FEDs conducted, and also the city would not be allowed to give out information that would aid the FEDs in conducting an investigation. Pretty effin sweet!
