As you all know I am overly concerned about my self in general, period. I can't help it. My latest concern is my bone strength lol..Basically I feel I'm not getting enough of this so I have started drinking more milk to try to catch up for what I have missed in the past, I never liked milk...period. The only time I ever had milk was in cereal and I rarely ate that. I was just wondering, how many glasses of milk should I have to get my proper amount vitamin D a day? :D

Drink one glass a day, the last thing you want is a kidney stone.

You can get a kidney stone. They will do surgery if it is to big. Sometimes they will use a sonar to break it up into smaller pieces. It is basically a stone of solid calcium. But usually, you will have to piss out a little rock that is much bigger than the hole in your dick without any help. They say it is a tenth of the pain of childbirth but who can really compary anything that doesnt have an actualy scale?

It's the calcium, not the vitamin "D", that causes kidney stones. A friend of mine, a 6 foot 3 carpenter, was absolutely helpless when the pain hit him. He said he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy! Vitamin "D" is an oil soluable vitamin, which means you can take too much! Just get youself a good vitamin pill- it will be in there and you won't have to worry about it any more! And now for the "happy" news. :D

Anyway, it boils down to, cannabinoids very well may protect your bones! I'm 59 and have had my bones scanned at 56 and 58. My bone density went UP very slightly! The tech said I had the best bones she had seen all day. Wonder if it has anything to do with my toking on a daily basis? :stoned: (You kids having problems with your moms, these studies might help convince Mom that pot might be good for HER (and maybe not so bad for you-lol)! Osteoporosis is one of the biggest bummers women have as they age!) -Granny :stoned:

That's sad...why do they keep making that shit. That's what we have natural herbals for :D. Maybe the reason we have a brain is to create things that are useful but I don't see anything useful in something that gives more side-effects than benefits :p.

Instead of a glass of milk try a grilled cheese sandwich on a whole wheat bread easy to make and taste good put some dried ripe tomatoes on top ... MMMM YUMMY Exercise helps too.

Yeap. My dad had kidneys stones, and the pain from them is one of the worst, i think it's rated up there with giving birth. He had the op and got them removed, but the week before the op when he was at home he was in such pain, he was buckled over and just couldnt get comfortable. He was in real agony, and it's the first time i ever saw my dad in real pain. This was like 10 years ago, and every now and again he gets twitches of pain, so he may have them again.
That's because he drank so much milk every day, and cream soda [a fizzy drink] and he ate alot of cheese.
Dont over do it man!

Damn lol, I was like drinking 2 glasses of milk today. I better cut back ..Also now that I started exercising again...omfg, I'm so out of shape I can't even touch my chest because of the tightness on it. It isn't on the inside, it's the actual muscles in my chest because of the exercising lol!

I take Calcium supplements, which include Vitamin D. Along with that, I take a Magnesium supplement.
I would skip the cow's milk, cheese, etc., and look at the other choices:

I am having a bowl of organic, hot buckwheat cereal every day - it's very rich in magnesium - which is necessary for heart health. Split pea soup, nuts, and many other foods are also good sources of magnesium.
