so i am sitting here, really enjoying my day off, and work calls, and i know they want me to come in today, and i just don't feel like coming in on my day off, so i don't answer. i check the message, nd they did want me to come in, for just like 3 hours, to fill in for someone ( it is not like there is one person working at a time, usually there are 4 or 5 people there). should i feel guilty for blowing them off, i really did not feel like working.
fuck no if you didnt agree to work you should feel happy

don't feel guilty. you did the right thing by saying no. you don't want to become a "yes" man, cuz then they'll treat you like a lil bitch and expectr you to come in on your days off in the future.

if it's your day off then you should feel ok... if you were there and feel that you would not need the help of a person who has the day off,,,then you should not feel guilty at all...

That depends. Do you often call out and have people cover for you?
If you do, then yes, you should feel guilty. But if you dont expect people to cover for you, then they shouldnt expect you to cover for them.

No you shouldn't feel guilty. Maybe if you were supposed to be at work, and you called in sick, then that's a reason to feel guilty, or if you're like me, you wouldn't give a shit either way. :p It was your day off man and you should enjoy it, so fuck them.

Hey man, if it's your day off it's your day off. 3 hours? Come on, whoever is working can deal with being short 3 hours. I mean, how many times have you had to work like that?
That was always my rational when I wouldn't go into work when called him....just think to myself how many times I worked shorthanded and no one else cared. Just try to enjoy your day off. 3 hours isn't bad, my shifts were nearly 9 hours.
