I worked on the set of the movie flakes (not yet out). I was a production asst. and drove the actors around, blocked off traffic, found extras, made fake vomit. It was a very fun experience. If you are interessted I know UNO has a VERY GOOD film school.

If you ever get serious about writing screenplays get a program called final draft. It formats everything automatically and makes your life so much easier.

If you are thinking about editing and film making I would suggest you get a Mac along with Final Cut Pro. The full program costs about 600 plus dollars though. So I wouldn't suggest it unless you are serious.

If you are interessted and live in an area where movies are sometimes shot, check into a PA postion. They aren't hard to get if it is a low budget or indie film. But you also won't get paid either.

I tried working on Dukes of Hazzard for 150 dollars a day but didn't have any luck with that.

It is fun, if you are interessted and are in college or will be soon, get a job at the tv station there. There are also a lot of student film makers on college campuses. If you are in highschool, ask for a decent camera for Christmas and start filming short films with your buddy. They don't have to be amazing, just get experience with it and let your imagination get some excercise.

Thank for all the input JE.

Yeah I'm about to finish up my Senior year in High School and I already made my own little short of walking to school. I used my grandma's camera and this video editing program I got for free form a friend.

However, that camera was a peice of shit that belonged to my grandma and unfortunately I had to delete the editing program from my computer to preserve space. Though I loved doing it all and I wasn't that upset because I plan on going to college and get some money to get some better equip. and hopefully right some shorts or indies and direct or edit them. I'm pretty much open to the whole thing though.

I plan on going to a film school in Austin or going to a community college there for 2 years in video production, and then go to a university.

What do you suggest? Could I just say fuck the 2 years at a community college and go to a film school and get an associates in video production or like a bachalors in video technology?

It is all up to you. Below is a link to UNO's arts degree site. It says it requires 120 credit hours. That would be a four year program, so I don't see the harm in going straight into that degree program. You would graduate college with a four year degree which would be good enough for a lot of jobs even if you decided later you didn't want to do that any more.

If you would like to get a two year first in video production though it couldn't hurt. As I said, it all depends on what you would like to do. A two year degree in video production plus the four year would help I'm sure, but I would suggest looking at the courses of study. You may find out most of what you would take in the two year program is included in the 4 year degree as well.

Yeah, It is a full university. University of New Orleans. I will leave you a rep point and put my Aim sn in that. I don't want to post it on the boards. If you don't know how to check your rep comment let me know. I'm not going to be on Aim right now though because I have to type 10 one page papers for my film crit class (iorny). But I may be on later around 3 am and will log on tomorrow around 3 or so when you get out of school.

Anytime man, I will also give you the sn of a guy who is currently enrolled there, if given his premission, and working on a few of his own films right now along with starting a film magazine. He would be of a lot of help to you too and would be a great source for future networking.

well i have made about 8 films in total.

what you do is you get a note pad and draw sumfink
then on the next poage you draw it again but slightly moved then repete this each time changing what your picture is doing slightly then you flick the pages really fast :).

1 of ma fils is about a man who is in love but she is cheating on her husband with the caretaker of the skl that her dad works in, then her dad gets run over and at the funeral she ends up giving head to the preist, the caretaker finds out and kills the preist, then the woman and the caretaker havehot passionate sex on a pool table. the woman enjoys making smoothies for all her friends aas she is part of the local council ppl so she often has visitors. its a verry entertaning film. it also has subtitles for the deaf.

lol i joke i cud never do them flick book things
