Maybe everysingle thing we see, is completely another thing someone else sees but somehow the words are the same?. okay like this
preten i say "hey look at that tree" at what im looking at is the plant with a brown trunk and green leaves and is pretty. Obviously you know what im talking about, but whatever some people thought what we call a tree as something like..a trashcan. So when we say look at that tree, they say yeah its cool looking, but theyre really talking about a trash can.
its kind of liek being colorblind, but with words.
it can also apply to ideas, thoughts, anything. maybe everything one person looks at is never the same thing to another person.

Its very simple. Use this as an example.
Say you're like "look at that cow"
i'd look at a horse and be like "yeah i see it"
i think by cow you mean horse, and i think horse you mean cow.
i just have the two mixed up.
But I really know what a cow really is. The things that go mooooo

Perception of reality constantly intrudes upon my thoughts, especially while high.
The most intriguing part, is when you are able to cross over and catch a glimpse of what another person might see. Now, next time you're doing this, try this: when you can see both things, two different perceptions of the same subject, Pick the NEW one. What you're doing is rewriting a beleif, a little batch of data that you got in your head a long time ago, and applying a different perspective to it. This action of picking a new beleif, will change you entirely. Not in the completely dramatic sense, but if you take the time to watch yourself think, you'll start noticing that the new perception you chose will always pop up.
Do this: watch fight club three times. Twice sober, and then again stoned.
The first time, you'll watch it and it might interest you, it confuse you, but the ending will be a glorious one.
The second, with the truth behind every situation obvious, you'll understand most of it.
But the THIRD time...
The third time is magical. You can see every connotation to reality and the mental "illness" of tyler durden, you'll understand the relationships and insanity provoked by the story line behind the story line. And the entire film changes.
Let your mind evolve.

totally get what you're saying dude...i was gonna post the idea with the colors but it got posted already! Thinking is fucking cool...This is kinda a whole new subject but has anybody thought about how in general, the basic goal of any human being is to stay alive and live long just as any other animal, but we've become so sophisticated through the course of time that everyone goes through the same system of life (like childhood, school, work, generating a family, and being prosperous) but in general our goal is to just to stay alive...man if i was baked i could probably explain it better but yeah just throwin some of my ideas out there.

Similar to what you are talking about. I have alway's wondered how certain blind people imagine a tree. Assuming they were blind from birth. Let's say they have had a tree described to them as having a brown trunk (cylinader shaped) with long thin branches which are also brown. Attached to these brances are green leaves. I'm sure the shape would be close to our preception because they can feel that along with texture. But as for colors and the over all picture it would be difficult.
I have always wanted to talk to a blind man about this and ask him to try and describe in detail how he imagines a tree or anything else.

What if what you call a cow, isn't really a cow. its really a horse? you grew up being taught and showed that it was a cow, but it really is a horse.
These are obviously not good examples, but i tried to make it really simple. It goes into depth i cant explain for me.

What if you tell a chinese man to look at the cow. Him not understanding good english sees the horse but thinks of the word cow. From than on he will precieve the english word cow as what we see as a horse...

i understand what you were saying, but i agree, it's hard to find the right words to describe it.
Mick Jagger walks out from a press conference, a reporter falls to the ground. immediately the reporters are on the phones, yelling out the headlines for their papers. one of them says "Rogue Reporter get's too close to Jagger!" another says "Jagger Fed Up With Press" and another says "Mick Jagger Attacked By Press".

objective and subjective reality.
I will never know if you all exist, or if my mind (if my mind is even real) is simply fabricating you all into existence.
However, as far as I consciously know, I, Exist. I perceive, and therefore, the perceiver exists. I think therefore I exist. But how do I know my level of perception is as "real" as someone elses?
And reality, is it based in external reality, or do my own perceptions truly hold my conscious world together?
Simply based on the fact that just because crazy people beleive they can fly and they don't, (although most likely an extremely exciting pseudo-reality) I beleive that there is an external reality. However, (assuming you all exist) "our" reality, our happyness, all rests on the shoulders of our perception.
Meaning, in order to feel happy, I need to constantly keep my perceptions, my mood, my mind, clean, positive, and in some way refreshing.
Another trippy thought: Emotions. Positivity, Negativity, Pain and Pleasure, are things Entirely created by our mortal beings. Brainmatter, chemicals pulsing here and there, telling us what is pleasure and what is not, DNA forcing us to define our lives by a set of rules like Survive, Procreate, Love And Hate. We can NEVER truly understand (if there is a true perception/understanding) the universe if we are guided and controlled by a physical existence. The problem is, when you think like this, it starts chipping away at your comfortability with being human... It's not something to think about often. In the end, we are so truly at mercy of our physical beings, we can only submit to them.

I often think about like, what if what im seeing as my life, is just being played through my mind like a movie. what if aliens, another life, something has every human, if their are others, or perhaps im the only human, inside pods in a factory. Me living my life is simply a cable into the back of my head playing a life. When its over, i awake, and begin my journey. if my journey becomes easy and good or harsh and horrible, you can classify it as my own hell or heaven. None of you are real, just something played in my head so i'd mature and understand most i could before i start my real journey in like say another world, or heaven or hell.
Im not really a religious person at all..just using those as like examples..i think. I dont know. Im fucking stoned

i think what your describing would be alternate realities. we all live in our own seperate realities. take this for example: anchovie. we all see a fish but some see it "differently" some people see it as a great tasting topping while others see it as revolting. some people consider the taste exquisite and others hate it. some people like the smell and others despise it.
all reality is really is perceptions.

Oh and to try to argue with myself right now, I guess you could say to help prove your theory that "leaves" for me might be "trash can lid" for you, and "changing colours" might be "smells bad"

Who decided that a cow was gonna be called a cow?
Was there a debate...a referendum...a platform for people to put their ideas forward as to what they called a cow?
I think not.
But it happens anyway, doesn't it?
I call it a cat, the french a chat...whereas, a chat, to me, is an exchange of words...

I totaly get this, and can relate even...like, I once thought I had a "big cock", I viewed it to be as much at an early age, but then the first girl a banged called my Big cock a "pee pee". There's a big difference between a cock and a pee pee, ya know? I liked my perceptin much better, as it was right in my eyes, but her perception disrupted my own, and therefore damaged my ego and personal perception of what I viewed to be true. I mean, what girl would choose a pee pee over a cock, and why would she say that to me if it wasn't true?
Fucking bitch, I'm damaged goods now! (Me AND my "pee pee")

This all comes down to how we percieve the world, either with our sense data, like empiricists would say, or like bishop berkley would say: all that exists are our minds and our ideas. His idealism rests on the existence of god though which masquerades as an explanation but really explains nothing. The thing about sense data, the images we get in our mind when we see things. Like a table would be a rectangular hard piece of sense data and a melon would be a round yellow patch of sense data. Well, the thing about sense data is that it's private and it's subjective, we can't compare our sense data to others. When I look at a tree and you look at a tree we would see something different, especially if it were in our imaginations. As Wittgenstein would say something that's private can not be checked from an external source, therefore rendering it meaningless. What was my point again? Oh yeah, ganja is good :stoned:
