This is the light fixture I cobbled out of one of the closet shelves, some salvaged light fixtures, and some mylar. That shelf is how big my grow closet is. 4.5 ft². No outside ventilation other than opening the door to look in.

7 x 27W CFT (6@6500K, 1@2700K) ea 1600L+

Total 11200L+ or ~2500L / ft²

That is what 11200L looks like through a cheezy webcam. Note how quickly the light "fades" on the carpet. (the inverse square law) This shows why CFTs are great for small, enclosed spaces, but NOT for full fledged grow rooms. Also note the color difference between the 2700K (center) & 6500K bulbs

Those L figures are "straight line" math. As you can see, the bulbs are clustered to one side of the shelf space and are directly above the tub, which is 14" x 20" = 280 inch² = 1.945 ft², call it 2 ft² for easy approximation. Allowing for "slop", I'm guesstimating closer to ~4500L / ft² where the plants are.

6500K vs 2700K
Here is a clear photo showing the difference between 6500K (daylight, the "blue" ones) & 2700K (warm white, the "red" one) spectra in flouro bulbs.

At bud time, 3 more 2700K CFTs (ea 42W/2600L) will be added.

Where exactly do you get the fixtures for multiple bulbs like that?

Where exactly do you get the fixtures for multiple bulbs like that?Salvage. They're household light fixtures that have been thrown out when someone remodels their bedroom, garage, etc. (I'm a cheap bastard) They're usually rated to handle up to 60W bulbs in each socket, and my biggest CFTs are 42W, so they're well within their limits, capacity-wise.
