this is just somethin off the top of my head, not really all that good. or anything, i think it has the potential to be good tho, so im open to suggestions about something i could add/change/take out. although i wont change the theme of it.

fuck chistians
they think theyre some mission
to save the human race
im here to put them in their place
fuck the saving grace
splash some cum on his face
before i hit the 2nd base
then ill give a chase
of some alazace
before it go to waste
religion
brainwashes people
like a flock of pidgeons
leaving permanet incisions
theres no god
its written in the lotus pod
anyone who believes it
has a mind completely flawed
adam raped eve
then he when with steve
and tod
jesus was a hippie
a trippy dippy hippe
he was never divine
thats the greatest lie of all time
he never turned water into wine
that was me
i tainted it with the blood of a swine
he never walked on water
he never saved jeffry dahmer
he never banished legion
the only thing thats true
is he lived in the galilee region
and of him all these people are beseechin
to save their souls
all there goals
and hopes
and dreams
from the products of the evils midnight schemes
abraham had 27 sons
what they dont know
is that they all carried guns
and they shot up some nuns
while they were on the runs
there was never a burning bush
no god to give you a push
their savior toked up the kush
like me
only i can outsmoke him with the tree
is it thee?

you might be a hater
but this is the end of my rhyme
so see ya'll later

rate from 1-10
1: i abso-fuckin-lutely hated it
2: i strongly disliked it
3: i disliked it
4: a milder version of 3
5: eh
6: alright
7: nothing id pay money for
8: i might buy it
9:id buy it
10: id buy all of your cds if they were as good as this

I never liked rap, no poetic merit. If you just read it without sounding it out to a beat or anything it sounds like a nusery rhyme. I'm speaking in generalities though.

Maybe you think that because you don't like rap? lol...

that's like saying *i hate rock, just listen to the lyrics without the instruments, it's pointless*.

fikusroot
12-06-2006, 05:54 AM
I'm not saying that although if you want me to get into how little musical talent it takes to make a hit rap beat I could. No I'm saying that most rap songs, even indie rap songs dont have very weighty lyrics. Theyre just a compilation of pretty sounds. now granted, a lot of rap artists are very intelligent and dedicated people and with intelligence and dedication comes a well produced work but I'm saying the whole idea of having a musical style that relies so heavily on the beat and largely ignores complex composition is only made for the purpose of appealing to a base side of us rather than the intellectual human side. That's why people grind to little john and not Dave Brubeck. I can see why so many people like rap and how they will hotly defend something thats given them so much enjoyment, but that doesnt change the fact that it is on a sheer musical level on the bottom rung of the ladder.

CYRAX
12-06-2006, 05:59 AM
Actualy, your point is basicaly saying rap doesn't require much talent.

Considering your amount of multi's and meta's, it all depends on complexity.

Now adays it's all about sound, not lyrics, the mainstream wants something that has a ring to it.

I look at rap as a test of complexity, make people notice you rhyme, but then make them think with your lines.

fikusroot
12-06-2006, 06:07 AM
But clever rhyming is just such a childish source of admiration. I truly believe that music in it's most pure form comes from a group of people jamming with instruments for an extended period of time. Most people can't hear it and a lot of those who can have to be on drugs but for the few sober folks who can, jamming is basically just holding a conversation in a different language. That's why I can sit and listen to a band jam for literally hours. It's all about being able to listen, to understand what their saying, otherwise it's just noise. Rap is much simpler because nothing is inferred, the artist tells you everything you need to know.

CYRAX
12-06-2006, 06:40 AM
I'll simplify your statement, the music you like is judged by the instrumental performance mostly, and for mine, the complexity in lyrics is observed the most, kind of like opposites.

sokay, its not meant to be gay just threw it in mockery of religion and its "recent" venues into homosexuality

im not really into mainstream rap and for me, the well composed lyrics are just the starting point, something to get a particular thought rolling and i think that was what good rap is all about, just something to get the ball rolling, yo know?

thcbongman
12-06-2006, 10:52 PM
You should get on a mic and record yourself freestyling and post it.

Anyone could sit here for an hour and come up with some nursery rhymes. It's another thing to actually spit on the mic and improv that shit, hell even writing the lyrics beforehand, it takes some skill to get it to flow. Seeing this "rap" on the screen, it's like poetry. I gotta feel the soul in your voice to consider it rapping.

Why should you bag on christians if their religion gives them hope. You are a sad person and i hope you understand what im talking about. I myself don't have a real belief in God, but that doesnt give me the right to try and crush another persons beliefs. You need to rethink your "rap." Do more of a Mac Dre/Andre Nickatina Kind of style. I have had shitty days too, i suffer from chronic depression im bipolar and the list goes on. Yet i can hold my tongue. why are you telling me your problems? you think i dont got enough of my own? btw, im bipolar as well, so what?
music is a form of self expression and i am expressing my *ahem* strong dislike of religion.
the unshakeable belief that there is a magical man in the sky that protects them from evil is a highly schizophrenic and possibly dangerous delusion, it has caused wars. people that believe in this magical man are allowed to walk the streets free instead of being commited to the nearest psychiatric ward

fikusroot
12-09-2006, 06:12 AM
So why do you have such a strong disliking of religion? What has it done specifically to you? I'm not religious myself, just curious.

MastaChronic
12-09-2006, 06:29 AM
absolutely nothing. strongly disliking is putting the way i feel very mildly. i cannot articulate just how much hate i possess because even i cant fathom it all.
the church brainwashes people and teaches twisted forms of the book that they say cannot be corrupted to suit each societies wants and fears. willingly instilling schizophrenic tendencies into children and teaching them that its true and if they dont believe it they burn in eternal hell fire before they can choose is wrong.
i guess i am partly jealous that while they are openly insane they are not commited to wards, but if i were to be openly insane to the public i would be commited in an instant. they can threaten with eternal hellfire and suffering but i cant threaten to slit a bitches throat and leave her corpse in a dark place so it can play with itself. whats worse? eternally being spitted on a flame or a quick death? and yet they dont get prosecuted for it.
i guess i am a bit jealous. but more than that i just outright hate the fact that they think they are so much better than other people because they believe in a magical man in the sky. if i could, i would gladly end the life of every human being on this planet regardless of creed.

fikusroot
12-09-2006, 06:36 AM
Now, you are putting to much blame on the actual churches and religion. People are corrupt, not religions. Secondly I dont see why you hate them so much if theyve never physically done anything to you other than defy your beliefs. That type of responce in and of itself is charactaristically religious.

MastaChronic
12-09-2006, 06:44 AM
its true that people are corrupt, but its people that make up the churches and religion.
ive taken a bong rip and settled down a little bit and i will tell you why i hate religion. its because when i was a little boy.........a priest raped me.......j/k the real reason is because my grandparents had tried to force it on me and im not the kind of person that can have things forced on me. they tried very hard and the more they tried the more i began to hate, despise and revile it.

fikusroot
12-09-2006, 07:22 AM
That's kind of the same with me, it was pretty much thrown at me and for a while I was religious but eventually kind of decided it wasnt the way for me. I have happened to have seen a lot of the good that religion can do. I've seen a lot of the bad as well but it has done a whole lot of good. I think people rather than get caught up in some complex religion in their search for answers, focus simply on spreading love and goodwill towards others. I feel like such a hippie saying that but I really do think that. Or maybe its just because Im high and tired and am in love with everybody right now.

If there ever was a time and a place to say
All the lyrics in my spirit then today is the day
If I ever take for granted what I have in my life
Am I worthy of the kingdom and worthy of his light?
So Don't second guess yourself in pursuit of your wealth
Fuck opinions of the masses its bad for your health
Everytime I feel I quit I lose a piece of myself
But my visions my decision, wheres the feelings I felt.
So don't get a tight grip, relax and just unwind
Remember why you're here and what you need to find
Fuck a dolla bill cause I still have time
Now picture me rolling in the back of your mind
And think of the muthafuckin facts and bless reality
Cause your untaped talent equates, fatality
Cause you might as well be dead if you havent figure out

Every aspiring artist..

"Can I get a beat." lol If I had a dolla for every artist I ran into thinking they were the shit I wouldn't have to work. Not puting you guys down its just hilarious how many people get influenced by known artists and pretty much emulate what they hear. If I let you spit on my mic. I can tell you who you listen to in the first 20 seconds. Don't listen too close guys you might come off too much like your idols, and whats new about that music. Might as well kareoke.

For that matter, please don't rap on known track instrumentals. As soon as someone gives me a demo and some dre beats come on and some mexican or whoever starts to rap all fucked up. Its turned off and exited the building. Lol

Bullshit hip-hop / rap has been around a long time now, the trend is shifting, but now its all about saying how fucked up the industry is and the quality of the music. Now nas is saying the same shit I was saying years ago. Pretty much about their style. First it was NY then it was the West coast Now its the South.. Sigh... Yo can I get some canadien rap eh?

DISCLAIMER: I'm not comparing myself to Nas but for the example, the trend is being adopted by many trying to cash in on whats true. BTW I didn't know Jay Z was the ceo of rap... LOL I don't own "A" JZ cd, his shit is tired.. he didn't make 10 albums+ he made one album 10 times.

Wonder if its the other way around.. You think because you hear, therefore you're a bit induced to be thinking that way, and since the power of thought is one of the most powerful things why do you waste that time and think of that.

Just a honest question. I'm not a hater and wish for you to get better with everything you do. Including your rap dream. =) let us hear your flow then just do it on any instrumental you find that will go with it. I'm a bit interested now lol

Plus, reading your rap makes me see that you're just as hypocritical and wrong as any christian. But that's ok I guess.

Thats the other thing about rap. To me.. again reffering to my experience.
When I run into someone they ask me what I do, I tell them and all of a sudden their a rapper. From raps or lyrics or poems you can understand what someones thinking inside their head, its common to have conflict inside your head but when you rap something it has to come very clean and to the point, this is why the "skill" when someone does have it, its rare and unique.

Fun to be into, I've been writing for a very long time and I'm still never really satisfied with my delivery and choice or words. Which is why I'm not a vocalist lol. I'll help people with theirs or make suggestions which is all I'm doing atm repying. In my work its touchy to suggest changing lyrics & verses. Being that if I help em change their song, I've just co-wrote the song. Makes em weary and usually we never go past thinking about a song which saves me time.

I encourage you to read. As much as you can. Empower yourself dog, you need ammunition if you wanna spit from your head. You have to see it so many times that when you are prompted to write you already know pretty much what you're gonna say. Practice saying stuff slowly throughout your day that is valid and describing what you're doing within your day. Then make it deeper applying a metaphor that explains the same thing while at the same time adding the hip hop delivery of syllables in time with your beat. I encourage you to out do and re-invent yourself. I bet you'd be surprised. Get creative man not negative. Only a positive mind can ever come up with something extraordinary that people will recognize..

Although... I do suggest you do copy artists you hear just to get the idea of how to put styles together or develop your own from. Everyone does that yes. I advise it to people I run into and alot of musicians I know say the same thing to me. I'm a student of music as well so whatever I'm messin with its the guys ahead of me that I look to for their experience to borrow and move forward myself from. I'm interested in hearing if any of you guys here have talent. Be fun to do some songs together for fun.

You should get into football or hockey. Great way to channel your agression. Instead of killing a person, kill a puck. Then get good enough to control it. Brings you great joy and stress reliever. Plus you're creating those endorphines that promote happy-ism.

Writing lyrics is by far one of the best ways to speak your mind and get stuff off your chest. :)

You need a wider vocab. MastaChronic. To hip-hop or rap, your voice is ygour weapon. Much like a guitar player uses their guitar to speak loud and clear, but in your case, it's your voice.

So I suggest you get a thesorous (sp?) and switch up some words that have an impact. :)

And if you're going to put down certain things, like religion in your case, then back your writing up on why you feel that way. Saying, "I hate religion, it's all BS" or something is not good enough. Explain why you hate it, examine the words and give them some flow, and what you say will stick with people more. :)

the unshakeable belief that there is a magical man in the sky that protects them from evil is a highly schizophrenic and possibly dangerous delusion, it has caused wars. people that believe in this magical man are allowed to walk the streets free instead of being commited to the nearest psychiatric ward

fuck yeah christians have probably caused at least 50% of intetntional deaths since the beginning of the religion
