Well i am back with another question, I was watering my baby tonight and noticed small white insects running about in the compost.(Quite small, about 2-3mm long fast and burrowing in and out of compost) I have no idea what they are or how to treat it, can anyone help out? I don't have any photos as they go back under ground quite fast. Thanks in advance doods and doodets.:D

Uhh, hello der. Yea, pest are bad bad things and the way u describe them they sound like spidermites. What u need to do is go to your local wal-mart or rona or homedepot or whatever and obtain a "no pest strip" Tis what they are called. Do this and you wont have to worry about battling the bad critters for the entire time u grow...

If they're crawling in and out of the soil they are probably not spider mites. The mites live, breed and die on your leaves. Could be fungus gnat larvae. Do you have little black flying bugs, as well?

Yea....sounds like thirps. Mites are real small....thirps are long and fast, I got em they suck. After my soil grow finishes im going to bug bomb the whole room before getting started on the next.

Put some construction sand down on the top of the soil it will kill the babies as they emerge through the soil and there are a few chioces for spray. You have to look at how long you have till it breaks down. Neem oil is good I hear there is more aggressive and more passive methods also
