Hi,
need some advice.
My boyfriend had surgery 2 weeks ago after breaking his foot. It' still bleeding a bit and is still healing, he could really use a toke.
The docter said not to smkoe cigearettes becuase it does something to the blood vessels that hurt the healing process. Does anyone know if that apllies to weed?
Should he risk it and smoke weed anyway?

depends on how your smoking your weed if its neat then it does not contain the same chemicals as tobacco and is not as harmful and shouldn't interfere with the healing process I think your GP may be referring to the fact that smoking constricts blood vessels and floods the blood with carbon monoxide among other things hope this has been of help to you

Basic rule of thumb: If you aint sure, don't do it!

Might be worth checking a few drug info sites, to see if Cannabis thins the blood, but other than that, it's down to whether he can handle the paranoia of thinking that his blood is gonna gush out of his wound at any minute bwhahahahahaha

I did have broken bone and surgery and I smoked weed when recovering. I dont think it hurt but i smoked many weeks after the accident. I recovered for about 4 months. But maybe you should get a proffessional opinion.

Don't take this as expert medical advice, but I've read that nicotine restricts the blood vessels and THC dilates them, so I don't think it would be harmful to the healing process the way cigarettes would.
