Hey everyone
me an a few mates are planning a trip to europe next year, (around october november), wanted to know if anyone could give me some advice, we are not going to be looking at art, architecture or historical buildings, though if there are any on the way we may check em out, what we will be lookin for is 2 months of the most expensive partying we've ever done, so far all i got planned is to hit ocktoberfest in germany and get really stoned in amsterdamn, can anyone else recommend anything more for us to do? also can someone whos ever been to amsterdam tell me what the deal is with weed, is it cool to smoke anywhere or only in certain areas? can you buy it in pouches like tobacco, and how much does it cost there? also lookiung for good accomodations and etc.
any advice would be well appreciated
cheers,
Smokin EnDo

Dude you gotta see the shit over there or your missing out. You can get drunk and stoned anytime but the amazing shit is only over there.

GetDown, if you go to continental Europe this summer with only the intention of hard partying and not taking time to see art, architecture, or history, well, you simply don't yet have the intellectual capacity to travel. Stay home. You can party domestically. When you have the curiosity to muster up some cultural appreciation for the places you're going to visit, that'll be when you're ready to make a trip someplace else. And when you deserve to.

birdgilr, im 20, if i dont have an interest in that crap now i probably never will, it bores me, i do veiw myself as an intellectual, but im a computer nerd and as such am not into all the artsy fartsyness around me, for me to see a picture of the mona lisa is just as good as seeing it in person, i really wouldnt be able to tell the difference, so going to europe to see whatever cathedrals and other sites just wont do it for me at all, so im not gonna try, it will be a waste of time and effort for me, in europe you see so many lemming tourists who ooh and ahh at every single site they see and have no real understanding of what they are doing, the see a cathedral and they think, painting pretty, place old ahhhh pretty....... im not going to be one of those, nor will i be one of those people who truly appreciates those things...... so yeah..... that sums up my point.......

i heard prague is FUNNNNNNNNNN (czech republic). never been to europe yet so i cant really say. i heard in amsterdam that you smoke in like the cafes/coffee shops or w/e you call em (sorry never been there). also some of the hostels will let you smoke in the lobby/hang out room i've heard. someone told me that if you walk around and do it they might know your a tourist or it is kind of looked down upon to be OBVIOUSLY realllyyyy stoned walking down the streets. you can find some info on amsterdam sites or message boards

I'm not into Arts either, but the difference is I lived throughout Europe for half my life and seen most of the "attractions." Birdgirl is right, if you are only going to Europe to party, you are wasting your time, and money, might as well stay the entire time in Amsterdam, you are going to miss some real beauty and opportunity.
With that being said, if you want to party, check out Prague. That's hell lots of fun, lots of gorgeous women. If you want another place where you can get some weed, check out Switzerland. Beautiful country, not to hard to find a store where they sell bomb weed, Zurich is a party you can party too, although in a smaller scale than Amsterdam and Prague. In addition, it's the only country where you can hit some weed on the train, can't anywhere else in Europe. If you enjoy like waterslides and shit, check out Alpemarle about an hour outside Zurich. It's fun to go on them stoned in the middle of the winter with snow hitting your face while you go down. Another place to party....Ibiza.
But you gotta check some of the Arts, go to Paris, go up the Eiffel Tower, go to the Louvre, see the Notre Dame. It's truly magnificent, you don't have to appreciate arts to see the beauty in it all. Yea, the Mona Lisa is not worth seeing because it's behind some ropes, with thick ass glass, surrounded by 100 of other "lemming tourists", but there's much more to the Louvre than the Mona Lisa. Go to Italy for some great food, I recommend Bologna, Florence, Venice and Rome. It's a total orgasm, once you eat there and go home, you'll never see Pizza in the same light again, in addition to checking out some of the beauty and arts. If you go to Switzerland, the beauty is out in the mountains, in Interlaken, you can up to the Jungfraujoch and check out the absolute beauty that surrounds you from the top of the world. There's an Ice Castle, and a magnificent view of the Alps, with lakes Thun, and Brienz in the backdrop. Absolutely gorgeous to smoke a joint too.

thanks for the tip bongman, was planning on checking venice out coz ive always wanted to see it, also my dad propsed to my mum there so ive definately gotta see that, not sure if i wanna hit the louvre though, the ice caste in Jungfreaujoch sounds amazing so we'll definately check that out, and my mates and i are huge waterslide nuts so we'll definately go there,
another thing i just thought of was the cannabis cup, definately gotta check that out, ive read up and all the info ive found suggest that i have to spend a couple of grand in USD (sincve i live in AUS thats alot for me) to get a room there, anyone know if they sell cheap tickets just to get in and check everything out, would getting a room there be worth it???
also gotta see denmark, got a cousin there that no one has ever seen and whos mother doesnt want her to have any contact with our side of the family (long story short her father, who is my cousin, who is on my side of the fam, died ages ago and her mother is an evil bitch) so i totally wanna meet the cousin and maybe see if shed be interested in comming back home with me and meeting the rest of her family, i know her grandmother, my aunt, woudl give anything to see her..... do they speak english pretty fluently in denmark or is there a chance id have to learn some dutch in order to communicate with her, if so id better buy "Dutch for Dummies" ASAP, also weed legal in denmark???

They speak danish in denmark not dutch :)
As for if they're fluent in English, English is a common 2nd language throughout Europe, and more tourist-friendly, so you should have no trouble getting around. I know in Denmark they're lenient with weed, although it's not completely illegal. I don't know about Denmark, one of the few places I never went.

if your planning on being there in November, make certain you coordinate your travel plans with the CANNABIS CUP, all of the awesome cannabis culture the dutch have culminates that week, don't miss it.
Also you could probably find some good skiing around that time, if your interested in that.

don't forget to visit the prostitutes
nah man, as a rule i DO NOT pay for it, im just not that type of guy,
btw, can someone who has been to the cup tell me, ive found out that it would cost me more to get a full week pass with accomodations at the cup than it would for my entire airfare, also found out that passes can be purchased at the door for 200 euros, need to know, apart from actually sleeping there is there a difference between between the door pass and the other judges pass, is the door pass only a daily thing or is it good for the full week and most importantly once im in there, do i gotta pay extra for weed or is it pretty much free?

He got caught with guns, weed and coke all in a secret compartment of his car. He is previously convicted felon...he was released 7hrs after being arrested. Try beating that.

You can end up spending $1000 US on a travel package to the cannabis cup. If you just want to be in Amsterdam during the cannabis cup you would find a hotel as you normally would, and if you are on a budget you could stay in a hostel for next to nothing.
I have never been there, I know that some people are dubbed "judges" and some are not, and I think then a celebrity panel decides the winner, but they just try the favorites.
A few people from Amsterdam post on here, I'm sure they could let you know exactly how it works.
