Hi all, just want peoples opinion on J-Day. I wasn't able to make last years one but am considering helping in this year's so I was wondering what people thought of last year's(if any of you went) and any improvements that could be mad or any ideas you all may have. Hopefully then I can contact the organiser and see what could be done to make next years J-Day bigger and better!
Cheers.

C.I.A had good intentions when it started. I am a member of there message boards and its usualy very quite or you get the usual heads posting message's looking for smoke. The guy behind cia has taken a back seat i think due too work or something so now its just thicking over,,i never got to meet any of the heads from cia they meet up now and again i think at one stage but that doesnt even happen any more........

By the way again i have to say this i admire Gravy i was like that when i was young all up for the fight, but the system has a way off fking you over so too avoid a raid on my place or my pockets been turned out it dont trill me..
At this stage i dont think a march will change things or a bunch of smokers turning up too a park like lambs to the slaughter,,,,How fking paranoid would you be even if you did attend,,i d have to go with nothing just too feel ok....

Bud,,,Dont hold the breath i tell ya,,lol
I just cant see it happening ,in fact ive given up hoping to be honest..With the smoking bans and all the health nut shit going on these days, i just can see it. Sure cigs are going up by the month its already 6,50 a pack now there talkin about an extra 2,50 a pack. i KNOW CIGS ANT THE SAME BUT, the point is smoking is really the big evil most plp wont see any difference in having to inhale ur ganja or ur baccy...in fact they probly rather ur baccie..lol idiots.
Where was i ye,,cant see it mate. The uk downgraded just to avoid decriming it i think. Less complants if people mainly middle class upper class kids ant getting busted, hench you can kill off any movement by being seen to be doing something,,,(without doing anything)

Well cheers for your opinions anyway folks. I think one of the main reasons it has so many problems is because those organising it have very little experience with planning this kind of event but with sufficiant practice who knows? I know the government isn't going to legalise it because of J-Day but I feel it's important to protest in any way, big or small, about our backwards drug laws. TBH I think if you only bring enough for 2 or 3 joints I doubt the gards would do more than confiscate it anyway but I respect that many of you have garden projects that would land you in hot water if discovered so obviously you wouldn't wish to draw attention to yourselves! Or maybe you're all being paranoid because you smoke too much lol!! Joking by the way.
On a more personal note, it's good to see another republican stoner! I thought I was the only one!:p

Howdy Folks. . . .
In my opinion "JDay" should be renamed to JokeDay...
Because of the simple fact that it serves no useful purpose other
than to attract a handful of mostly kids,, or people that are "underage"
in the eyes of the lawmakers in this country. . . .
It has never achieved anything whatsoever,, except a mention on
the ccpr (http://www.ccpr.ie/) website and a few others
and maybe a tiny column in one or two newspapers. . . .
Nothing worth shouting about by any stretch of the imagination...
People in this country need to realise that there are not going to be
any changes in the near future in regard to our governments stance
on cannabis and drugs in general. . . .
Legalisation is the direction we would all like to be heading in,, but as was
said in this thread already,, Don't hold your breath. . . .
And while im at it,, there's a new Irish discussion board for our love of
herb over at thc.ie (http://www.thc.ie/phpBB2/index.php) if anyone is interested in having a look. . . . :smokin:
Peace. . . .

Thanks 4 that Tech.. iTs a cool site... plenty of stoners.. Yes theirs no hope for J day.. but that doesnt meaN SHIT LIKE THAT CANT GO ON... who needs to do it under the scums noses.. do it in secret.. i say we go on a walk for the legalisation of cannabis.. lets all meetup at the bottom of Ireland. sit have a smoke then start prerooling spliffs for the long walk back.. that would be good though get loads of sponsers.. thousands.. then just do a sponsered walk .. prove to them that stoners and heads of all types are not just unhealthy getz. We need to get the govt out of power and put in the greens or conservitives >> that would be a step in the right direction..

Cannabis Legalisation Ireland (http://www.wwmmireland.blogspot.com)
I am one of the main organisers of last years and this years J-day or as it's known now World Wide Marijuana March Irleand.
just want to say thanks to all those who believe, something is better than nothing, and it's better to try then not to and thanks for all constructive critism, it's always welcome. Admittedly last years event could not be considered a great success, but it was a start and hopefully it will grow and improve from there. Like someone kindly pointed out, it's mainly down to lack of experience and there's only one way to get that! This year we are organising a March, because as people with a political issue it is our legal right to March and we will not be disperessed and moved on by the powers that be.
Could go on all day, but easier if yiz just check out this years site, fairly up to date Cannabis Legalisation Ireland (http://www.wwmmireland.blogspot.com) ? Let us know what yiz think? All help/ideas welcomed!!
To those with only negative comments and rediculous comments about it 'happening by itself' ???? anyway or it 'never going to happen'???? please don't bother unless you're able to open your mind just a little. We are not dreamers, we do not think it is going to happen any time soon, but it's going to take a lot longer if nobody is trying to do anything?? Look at England and the organisations there, they seem to achieve a lot, if even only to educate people and slowy change the atitude of the general public? Do you really think the many campaigns over there had nothing to do with de-criminalisation??
Anyway sorry for the ear burning, just people who sit back and slag others trying to do some good, really gets to me!!
Be Good,
Smokie Mc.

I'l slag who I want when I want especially if they post here!YOU may think your doing something couragous for the legalisation of Herb by holding the march but others will always have something negative to say no matter what.I was just wondering How many times YOU have been prosecuted and imprisoned for growing and or supplying those in need of some Kind medeicine. And how many times you,ve had your house ransacked by cunts who are just to greedy to buy there own.
I have the upmost respect for those who campaign but DO NOT come on these boards and moan about taking a bit of slack from those who are out there doing REAL ground work for the fight. Some of us have famillies and wish to remain in the shadows and think that going to bushy park for a smoke and a chat is a bit ridiculous. It attracts youth who just dont care and think "oh yeh free the weed man! ,now anyone gota a joint".Lets face it we aint like the Canandians ,Dutch,Swiss etc and never will be.
Well maybe a little strong ,never.I don't like never. When I look at my baby girl I wonder if we can make a start there changing the next generations way of thinking so its not a big deal.Lets face it the little fuckers running around my estate couldn't give two fucks about legizlation. They'd smoke there own mother if it would get them high!

Well if your going to come onto the boards with an attitude like in the above
statement,, it's not going to do you any favours whatsoever!!
Many people on these boards are just sick and tired of do gooders that think
they can change the fooking world by organizing a march/rally/walk or whatever
you want to call it...
Yeah sure,, maybe it will have some sort of impact,, but as i've said
on numerous occasions before,, it's not going to happen anytime in
the near future. . . .
Best of luck in your endeavors to change the country's mindset!

As smokie said,it's not going to just happen by itself and at least we're trying to do something. This is the first pro-cannabis march in the history of the state and we're not expecting 10,000 people but as long as we get the message across and get a bit of media coverage it'll be worth it. Look at the changing attitudes across the globe in the last decade. It's been downgraded to class C in England, in most parts liberal parts of America you can smoke and you will get in little trouble if caught by the authorities, in many regions of Canada it's pretty much decriminalised if not legal... I could go on and on but basically attitudes are changing since the days of Harry Anslinger and co.
And tbh you sound a bit arrogant with lines such as 'I'l slag who I want when I want especially if they post here!' What gives you the right? I know the last few J-day's were not up to much but this time it is much better organised and planned. And what do you mean by 'doing REAL ground work for the fight' I hope you don't mean selling smoke because how on earth that benefits the legalisation I don't know. I'm sure we've all had some run in with the law but you say: ' How many times YOU have been prosecuted and imprisoned for growing and or supplying those in need of some Kind medeicine.' That 'i'm a schmad dealer who's done time' stuff is just childish boasting at best and I'd say the vast majority of posters on this site are as unimpressed with it as I am.
If you actually served time for growing and distrubuting weed to medicinal users for free the I salute you but I'm afraid that to actually be arrested and sentanced to prison you would have to be a fairly high up dealer who would have been making a fair profit. How exploiting weed's illegality for your own profit benefits the cause I don't know.
In summary, chill the fuck out.

I'm not really a fan of J-Day at all, but then you see the marches they have in canada and all that which has masses of followers and you think that nothing will get done if we don't voice our opinions. Still i'm not the marching type
What i think would be great for J-Day would be for people to meet up, keep it quiet close nit, if your part of the group then bring 2-3 friends you know you can trust and then just get all the cars to head off to some field in the middle of no where on a sunny day and just blaze away and swap stoned stories or even better grow info, then after that day there will be more growers and then next year if them 2-3 mates bring another 2-3 mates each you have a big gathering :)
Of course the law is the biggest factor there but if theres rules like everyone only carry enough for themselves like maybe a limit of 3.5g and absolutely no selling. so if there was trouble they wont be able to do much with a few grams possession.
If the group got big enough then maybe they could do some lobbying then or something but i think it's mainly just creating a community and see where it goes.
