I was just wondering. What were the prices like back in the 60's, 70's and 80's for weed? for a g, 1/8, 1/2, O????

I toke with an old dude, he kinda looks like Blue off old school. He wanted me to get him an O, I told him 300 for some dank and he almost tipped over. He;s had the same dealer for like 20 years and she still sells him an ounce for 40 bucks. I wish I knew her. But that kind of gives you an idea of how cheap it used to be.

Does he get good shit for that price? Its hard to believe that his dealer can keep selling at that price, unless he grows his own.

In 1975:

Mexican (a little rough but you got stoned): $20 / oz
Columbian (smooth and potent): $40 / oz

But make no mistake, bud is far more potent today than 30 years ago ...

I remember 4 fingered ounces for ten bucks of some serious shwag that had tons of seeds in it but we were like 12 years old and it was 1974. But only in what seemed like a couple of weeks the price of the Z went from ten to twenty to forty and fifrty bucks. Then around 1980 someone came up with an 1/8th for $20.00 of "Exotics" he called it. It was the skunkiest weed I had smelled in my life to that point and did it get you stoned.

back in the old days weed wasn't often sold in 1/8 - 1/4 etc...atleast not in the u.s . it was sold in a lid . take a listen to cheech n chong sometime . forget which album . lol . the one w/ "BOB BITCHIN" they were asked " HOW MANY JOINTS ARE IN A LID ? " reply was 1 , i roll big joints ! lid was about an oz. for 25-35 bucks .

My dad told me all kinds of stories back in his 70's, hippie days, and he told me about $15 ounces. He told me the growers then left a lot, if not all the leaves on the buds, so getting pure buds like we do now, was not common. Not like today where we smoke just the flower (bud).

He then told it was $30 an ounce for Panama Red.

As for quality, he said he could sit around all day, smoking joint after joint and not pass out. :p So I'm guessing it wasn't as great as it is now.
