So today me and my friends blazed (a blunt) and went to go get pizza. Well my cars alternator fukin blew and my car died. So i had to call my mom to come pick me up and get towed. They hella smelled the weed cuz of the blunt, which was fukkiin good, and as soon as we dropped off my friends shes all it smells like pot in here so i told her we smoked cuz i really dont think she cares as long as i do it in a safe environment and she doesnt have to know about it then its all good. She was really dissapointed though that i drove. Not so much the smoking which i thought was weird. She gave me that whole u dont have good reaction timing and ur putting all our shit on the line if you woulda got caught or crashed. I told her that if i wanted anyone driving it would have been me and that i knew i was perfectly fine to drive and its not anything compared to being drunk etc. But she is really disapointed at me and i dont know if shes gonna do anything to me yet, but i was wondering if anybody had any sites that have a published credible source on how pot affects ur driving and reactions and just other things i can say to her so i can make this whole situation better, i dont like disapointing her cuz shes hella cool with a lot of things and i feel bad.

It is true, it does slow down the thought process, which effects your reaction time. Driving while stoned is not an okay thing to do, and you won'[t find any websites telling you to go ahead and drive while high. It impairs your vision, we all know that :D and what impairs you, you become a risk on the road.

Don't drive high and don't try to fool your mom by convincing her that it's okay.

There was a thread in experiences yesterday, some guy crashed cos he forgot to stop at a stop sign... because he was stoned.

dont drive stoned, unless you can risk it... and you cant risk it, cos there others people out there too.

I must admit at this point, i do drive stoned, but i've been doing it for so long i can snap out of a high if i have to.

all I can say is,I was driving with my brother he was 17 I was 15,we smoked some good Jamacian... My Bro mis-judged a stop and we collided with cross traffic,totally f*&$#ed his 64 Maroon Impala SuperSport...

i know its not good to drive stoned but i do and so do millions of other people i was just looking for something that said the difference of reaction times and judgement between alcohol and weed. Also she told me that she feels like she failed cuz my life is sooo horrible that i have to smoke weed. And thats not the reason at all i just like to be high and relax, but i want to tell her that in a better way haha.

driving while high isn't a good idea, but it is better than driving drunk. You should try to do all of your driving before you smoke. Or walk if you have to go somewhere.

Well there isnt a way to get her approval on driving while high. It can turn ugly in a split second. Tell her after thinking about it that you decided it wasnt a very good idea and that you understand the dangers and her worrying about it. Tell her that you understand that she just wants you to be safe and that you wont do it anymore. Then actually dont do it anymore.

My dad drives high all the time but hes always been somewhat of a reckless driver sober so he has alot of experience and hes a better driver stoned.
